She screams like a girl ch 2

Shane nodded toward the front door acknowledging and greeting Bette’s searching gaze as she and Tina entered The Planet.

Alice noticed Shane’s reaction and turned to see who she was communicating with before announcing to the women gathered at the table, “The Portard’s have arrived” glancing at her watch, “Huh, and only ten minutes late.”

    “Tina looks upset.” Dana observes.

“More like pissed off if you ask me.” Alice states with a hint of amusement.

Leaving Tina to place their order, Bette strides over to the table toward two empty chairs, “Good morning ladies, how is everyone?”

Alice‘s questioning response overshadows all the others, “What’s up with Tina, she looks pissed?”

Setting down her purse and keys and taking one of the two open seats, Bette responds, “And good morning to you Alice. Yes, you’re right; it is a bright and beautiful Sunday morning. I’m so happy to see you too.”

The woman at the table watch Alice for a reaction, knowing she can’t, no, wont let Bette slip out of this one.

“Yea, yea, happy to see you, bright sunny day in L.A., blah, blah, blah. Why does Tina have that look on her face? What did you do?”

Cocking her head a little and staring at her long-time friend, Bette sighs, “She’s having a rough morning Al, just leave it alone – please?”

Bette’s gaze moves back to Tina as she waits for their coffee and breakfast order at the counter.

“Hmph,” Alice huffs, “rough morning huh? Is that BP speak for ‘you made your wife angry this morning and you don’t want to own up to it’?”

Watching Bette’s reaction, Shane leans toward Alice and speaks directly and firmly into her ear, “Leave it alone Al.”

Dana and Carmen watch the exchange and nod in agreement as Alice peruses the table for their consensus.

Directing her attention back to Bette, “Fine, sorry, I’ll leave it alone” but seeing Tina approach from behind, Alice knew very well she couldn’t let it go that easily, “but if it’s just that you couldn’t get it up this morning, don’t be ashamed, we’ve all been there.” Alice takes this opportunity to wiggle her tongue at Bette and wink at Tina.
