    When Shane’s away the kids will play… well, thery play when she’s there, too, but I had to think of somethign catchy to say!

    Episode 3

     

    I was sitting at the edge of the floating pier behind the cabin when I heard the screen door close shut. Shane had gone out to get food for the weekend, Bette and Tina were “checking out the room,” and Dana had decided to take a nap, so I’d come out to the water alone. Must be Dana, I thought smirking as I heard someone trip over one of the stepping stones in the back yard.

                “Watcha doing, grouchy?” I asked as I heard her come up behind me onto the pier. There was no sneaking up on someone while you were on that thing because it wobbled and creaked every time you made a move. She bopped me on the head and sat down next to me.

                “I am not grouchy!” She said, covering up a yawn.

                “Uh huh. Well you were.” I hit her back playfully.

                “I was tired! Bette called me at 6: 30 in the morning to make sure that I was up and packed!”

                “Count your blessings, Fairbanks, she called me at 6.” I grumbled, casting a glance over my shoulder at Bette and Tina’s bedroom window.

                “You know they’re in there fucking, right?” I looked over at her, shocked. Had the girl gained confidence with that nap?

                “Ew, Dana!” I grimaced.

                “What?! Look, they closed the shades!” She pointed, and I could see that the windows were covered. “Do you think there’s anyone else who wants to get laid around here?”

                “Stooooopppp!” I whined, putting my hands over my ears. “I don’t want to talk about sex with you!” Her mouth dropped open with a grin.

                “What? Alice Piezsecki doesn’t want to talk about sex? Are you okay?” She pressed a hand to my forehead and I swatted her away.

                “Fuck off.” I looked down, trying not to smile.

                “Seriously, Al, when was the last time you got some?” She brought her face down to eye level with mine, making me chuckle.

                “Okay, last week at the gym. That trainer who’s always yelling at you to shut up.” She let out a gasp.

                “No way!”

                “Yup.”

                “Liar.” I held up my hands in defense.
