    Chapter 13

    Tina was rushing around her apartment putting all her notes in her bag, today was the first face to face meeting with the prosecutor working Shane’s case.  They have been corresponding back and forth over the last few months with briefs and motions flying back and forth.  Tina had filed a motion for dismissal, including in her argument to the judge the sworn statements from all the eyewitnesses which unanimously claim that Shane was defending herself from harm which makes this incident an act of self defense.  She goes on to state that Shane is in fact the victim here making the claimant nothing more than an out of control husband who struck first thus instigating the entire incident.

     

    Tina got the impression from the prosecutor that there was no real push to prosecute Shane it was just a matter of not having the time to deal with it.  Ralph was the one who suggested to Tina that she move forward filing the motions to get things rolling, put the ball in the prosecutor’s court so to speak to force some action.  

     

    Ralph had been right.  The motion got Tina a call from the prosecutor who suggested today’s meeting to compare notes.  This meeting was only the beginning as far as the Assistant DA went but Tina just believed if she was effective enough this could also be the last meeting.  Trying to advocate in the Center’s best interest Tina also went on to file a claim against John Ballard in civil court for monetary damages on behalf of the Crisis Center so he could pay for the destruction of property caused by his rampage. 

     

    Despite Ralph’s claim that it would only be Tina defending on this case, he was the first to request an update every Monday morning to make sure in his own way that Tina had all her bases covered.  She had to smile to herself when Ralph found different ways to get his update without sounding like he was taking over.

    6. Hello Jwet thanks for another update! :-) I wonder what will happen to Shane and Tina once T’s parents heard about who is Shane! And am I missing something such as Mayan Tina in this update?! :-p is she the daughter of the farmer or she hasn’t appear yet?! Will the project turn into a good thing or would there’ll be more challenge before the success or….??? Lol… Pardon my impatient behavior :-D I just simply curious on what will happen next :-) .. He3.. Btw Enjoy the weekend Jwet! Thanks again for the update and I hope I won’t bored you on telling you that I am pining for next update :-)

    7. I have a feeling Shane will be wearing something black…of course! LoL But as for the Mayan planting of the Bajos – I vaguely remember seeing something of the sort on one of those National Geographic or History Channel stations…hmmmm…can’t say my memory is very accurate -but I won’t give anything away! Great Read – keep it coming! Can’t wait!
