Chapter 36
The Benefit
Christmas Eve had finally arrived. Bette was sitting in the limo she’d rented. She had spent all morning at the Gallery checking and rechecking everything for the event, but she wanted to arrive at the event with her lady on her arm. She found herself getting more and more nervous as she approached Tina’s house. Finally they pulled up to Tina’s house.
She put on her confident personae and strode to the door and rang the bell. The door opened and Ellie said.
“Hi, Bette.”
“Um, Hi Ellie. How are you?”
“Great I’m looking forward to the Benefit. It should be really cool.”
Bette looked at Ellie’s attire.
“Aren’t you coming with us?”
Ellie gave her a sideways glance.
“No, I’ll be there in a bit with my Dad.”
Bette took a deep breath.
“Oh, I didn’t realize he…”
Bette was interrupted by Tina’s voice.
“Hey there, beautiful.”
Bette looked toward the enticing voice and saw Tina descending the stairs. Her mind went blank as she was assaulted by the vision before her. Tina was wearing a beautiful red dress, it hugged her every shape and curve, it dipped just enough in the front to accentuate her perfect breasts, and continued to dip around her shoulders and down her back exposing her lovely sensuous neck. She wore her hair up that gave her an air of sophistication. Bette did not utter a word she just gazed at the beautiful vision before her.
Ellie started laughing.
“Earth to Bette, Come in, come in, Bette, your tongue is hanging out in front of the kid.”
Bette pulled herself together slightly as Tina approached her and placed her hand on Bette’s arm and and placed a small kiss on Bette’s check. Bette leaned into the gesture and whispered into Tina’s ear.
“Oh my, Tina. You look breathtaking.”
Tina pulled Bette into a gentle hug to whisper in her ear.
“Well you look ravishing. So let’s go knock some socks off.”
The ladies smiled and then turned to Ellie and Tina spoke.
“Okay we’ll see you soon.”
“Yeah, I can’t wait. Oh and by the way, you guys really look great.”
Tina walked to Ellie and gave her a hug.
“Thanks, sweetie. We’ll see you in a bit. Bye.”

Seems that everything is going well for them, even with Joe and Bette. Bette was very charming and gracious to Joe and their conversation was to the point. Joe was right he didn’t stand a chance once Tina saw Bette and fell in love with her. At least Bette didn’t gloat over her victory, she handled the situation with much aplomb. Now I would like to know what Tina has planned for Bette. Thanks.
I love how gracious Bette was towards Joe. Now that’s a lady. I think I know the surprise :) I wonder if I’m right.
Hey D&A, I am just loving this tale of love and romance in later life for Bette and Tina. There is such an honest connection between Bette and Tina. They are both able to share their inner most emotions and reveal their true selves to one another. This bond shows the depth of their relationship.How great were Ellie and Joe at the benefit. It is so pleasing to read that this new family is taking care of its own. Sweet to have the Center iun the middle of this and doing such great work. More please. Your Loyal Fan.
