Summer Vacation. Chapter 30
Previously:
“That was fantastic …” Tina whispered, almost afraid of the strength of her voice,
Bette nodded, “Amazing …”
“Fantastic …”
“Wonderful …”
“Awesome …”
Tina paused, running out of adjectives, she gazed up at Bette’s flushed face, “I love you …”
Summer Vacation Chapter Thirty.
Lottie glanced at her watch somewhat fearfully as she climbed the stairs, her monstrous hangover making every step seem like an enormous feat. If Tina hadn’t already decided to have a late morning herself she might have been forced to call in late or even sick to give the three pints of water Helena was forcing down her neck time to take effect.
She paused, halfway up, remembering for a second that it was Alice who had brought out the sambuca. Bloody Alice.
Lottie rubbed at her forehead, sending her mind back twelve hours for a moment to recall the strange events of the night before, there was something about Alice that was puzzling her. Or perhaps, more specifically, it was Alice and Helena. She remembered Alice’s cliffs notes when she’d first come down to LA, somewhere in the deep recesses of her mind, along with the strange complicated notion that Helena had once upon a time, briefly been with Tina, was the knowledge that Helena had more than ‘seriously’ dated Alice.
She paused at the top of the stairs; Tina sat across from the open door behind Ruby’s desk, looking as if she’d got there herself, only seconds before.
“Hi” said Lottie, interrupting whatever she was reading,
“Oh hi,” Tina glanced up. “Ruby won’t be in today,” she stated, “chicken pox.”
Lottie curled up her nose, “Oh … ew, poor her.”
Tina nodded, “So I hope you’ve had it,”
Lottie shrugged, thinking for a moment. Was it weird that she didn’t know?
“I don’t know.”
Tina smiled a strange sort of knowing smile, “Funny that, Bette doesn’t either …”
“So when’s she coming back?”
Tina looked at her, puzzled, “Who?”
“Ruby …”
“Oh um … when she’s no longer crusty I guess,”
Lottie grinned, “So I guess it’s just you and me for a while.”
~
“Maybe this isn’t the best time to ask,” said Helena, partly to Bette’s back as she walked two paces ahead, somewhat elated with life this morning, “But before all this business with David and Che weren’t you going to get on with sorting out some ‘other’ family business?”

WELCOME BACK and what a way to come back with an NC17. way to go, payback s on hold now though considering Angie’s little mishap and Bette’s meltdown about that.
So glad to see YOUR BACK!!! Please do not let Bette have a major meltdown and go off on Lottie. GreatNC-17 Thanks PPS
Cool, ur back and a great come back too. as usual a treat to read ur stories. just love it:)
glad your back, i’ve missed this story. wanted to say that even though they are all friends, have they ever thought or if anyone’s ever pointed out that maybe bette doesn’t want everyone speculating about her and tina’s sex life. they all know they do it alot, but they don’t always have to acknowledge that know.
Welcome back. Great update. So glad Kit set Bette and Helena straight so they could get the butts in gear. Can’t wait to see B&T reaction to Angie’s mishap.
I hope Bette reigns in that temper of hers, She was ok with Angie going to Shane’s shop. Skateboarding can be dangerous and when you do things that are dangerous there is the possibility that you may get hurt. A broken arm will heal, but sometimes broken relationships with family don’t.
I’m so glad you’re back. I loved this chapter. Can’t wait for the next one. I do know about working taking you away from writing. It sucks. Luved it!! PPS
So glad you took a break from the workday grind to return in such a funny, sexy, hot way. A brilliant post as always!! Loved the roses.
A big welcome back to you sofa! You have been missed! Poor Ang!
ah, i have to re-read, i read too fast…too eager…ok, that was fantastic, because it was realy well crafted as a story, but then i say that every time, because its true. you’re a born storyteller. is a boy hitting on lottie? why didn’t helena and alice get it on? lol…ok, ok, you don’t write to please only me, but the scene with tina and bette was…hehe…daaaamn good. ok, more comments tomorrow, when i’m giving a onger chance to read this long story in cut and pasted form. xoxo
Oh wow, I was so happy to read this chapter. As usually, I am always late to the party and probably last to comment, but hey I am here. Lottie is going to feel so bad about Angie’s accident but even if she was there nothing could have been done to prevent it from happening. I always love Bette and Tina adult alone time.
Damn B&T are hot, hope Angie is ok!
If you took your time getting back to us at least you came back with an epic. Gracious! So very much going on! Since that’s the case, I think I’ll refrain from revising my comments-at least for now. I’d really appreciate it if you would send Kit over to my place to offer sage advice and tell Lottie I’ll gladly run interference for her with the suits in exchange for a percentage.
Ruh roh. As others have said, I do hope Bette is relatively calm… but who knows, it might be Tina that goes off on one. Auntie Kit’s advice to Bette and Helena, as always, was spot on. Maybe her cooler head will prevail in the Saga of the Broken Arm. Such a good update, sofa, thanks.
