Tell Me Something Good 2.0 – Chapter 3

    Previously:

Tina, with baby in her arms, walked over to where Bette was leaning against the crib. She placed a gentle kiss on Bette’s lips. “I have a confession to make too.” Tina curled the loose strand of her behind Bette’s one ear. “I didn’t kiss Eric that night or any night after that and especially after you kissed me in your office.”

Bette smiled at Tina’s confession. “I thought I already knew everything there was to know about that night.”

    “Now you do.”

Tell Me Something Good 2.0 – Chapter 3

Tina rocked back and forth in the rocking chair with C.J. in her arms. This baby is definitely going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up. She thought. C.J definitely had Tina’s eye color and was a lighter complexion than when Angelica was a baby. “You are going to be so handsome when you grow up. Mama and I will have to fight the girls off of you,” Tina cooed at her son.

C.J. gurgled his reply and gave his mommy a drooling smile and a belly laugh when Tina buried her nose in the crook of his neck and tickled his belly.

The knocking on the door and the ringing of the doorbell brought all activity to a stop. “Alright, alright. I’m coming.” Tina stood and adjusted C.J. in her arms as she walked to the front door. “Hold your horses,” she said, pulling open the door to face two police officers standing on her stoop. “Can I help you?” She asked the two officers.

The taller of the two officers stepped forward and pulled a piece of paper from his pocket. He looked down quickly and glanced at the woman holding the baby. “Are you Christina Kennard Porter?”

Tina adjusted the baby in her arms again. “Yes, I am.” She could feel the beating of her heart increase. “Can I help you?” she repeated. Tina watched as the police officer looked down at the piece of paper he was holding.

The police officer again looked down at his paper. He took a deep breath. “Is your wife Elizabeth Porter?”
