That’s What Friends Are For [Chapter Six]

Bette’s fingers danced over her body in an attempt to tickle her, which seemed a success. Pretty soon, their laughter died as Tina relaxed against Bette’s body and buried her face amongst Bette’s unruly hair.

“I want to tell you everything.” Tina whispered against Bette’s neck.

“You want to tell me everything?” Bette pulled her closer and allowed her eyes to close as she inhaled the lovely aroma that Tina produced. “You don’t have to, Tee.”

“I do, I do. I want to tell you what happened with Henry, I want to tell you how I feel, God, I’ll even tell you what I had for breakfast…” She drew her head back and smiled lazily. “I had pancakes, by the way.”

Bette grinned and shook her head in disbelief, “You are one crazy woman, Tina Kennard.”

“And you love it, just admit it.”

    “I do love it.”

Tina felt a lump form in her throat as soon as her eyes connected with Bette’s. She could see something in them that she hadn’t seen for a long time. It made her stomach flip madly and her breathing go ragged. Bette was in a similar position herself.

She wanted to lean forwards and kiss her, to run her fingers through her hair and to hug her tight. But she couldn’t. They needed to talk and they needed to talk now.

“Let’s go sit…” Bette whispered, effectively breaking the silence.

    “Good idea.”

If Tina was to be honest, she was a little disappointed that they hadn’t kissed. It was the perfect opportunity, but like Bette, she wanted to talk. There were so many things that she wanted to say to her, she just didn’t know how to begin and what to start with.

As soon as they were settled on the couch with a cup of coffee each, Tina decided to begin.

“A couple of months ago, Henry and I had a party…” She looked up at Bette for reassurance and the brunette immediately wrapped an arm around her shoulders. It seemed to relax her enough to continue. “None of my friends went, they all said they’d come but they didn’t. Apart from Jenny, who was away with Max at the time? I think, anyway…”

    1. Ugh, those damn pubes are EVERYWHERE! That is seriously nasty. It doesn’t help that I watched a few seconds of a REALLY gross video before reading the chapter. *gag* Anyway, can’t wait to read about the date. Hopefully no unorthodox garnishes will appear with the meals.

    2. Jenny is too funny! She must be taking lessons from Alice, lol…now can’t wait to see how the date turns out. glad they both talked… communication is the key!

    3. Well the girls are looking hott together and things seem to be moving along. I hope Jenny can see that Tina is really into Bette and cuts them a little slack. I know Jenny loves Tina and is her best friend but she needs to try to get to know Bette a bit before attacking because of how she acted while drunk and not knowing Tina’s feelings at a party. Bette deems like the commitment type if things feel right to her. PPS

    4. Well its taken me a few days to catch up on this story and Iam so glad that I did … its has all the things I likeBette, Tina, houour , drama and of course Alice .And best of all Jodie well what can I say other than not playing a starring role !! excellent all round.thanks for sharing and please post soon.

    5. Hey there, thx for the reply; about the ‘drunk thing’: they say the TRUTH comes out when u r drunk and that includes your true character. Years ago in my country u could get away with murder if u made the ‘excuse’ that u were drunk now it’s not acceptable especially alcohol, and with the proliferation of “P” murders , killing for drug $…etc etc. the population especially survivors whose children, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers even grandmothers who have been murdered have no stomach for excuses…so no sympathy for Henry or Jodie here, cut ’em loose and let our women get on with their lives without carrying extra baggage, just my opinion.

    6. I just read you story. Excellent story; I like it very much. The story much offers potential and I hope for it lasts long. Bette and Tina get married. They’re planing their family. And then a little drama can be carried out if Jodie and Henry come out at prison. But nothing can came between Bette and Tina’s great Love.
