The Addiction
Chapter Two: Detoxification
Detoxification, detox, the process of removing toxic substances from the body. There are all sorts of detox for different kinds of cases. There are those for alcohol addiction, and probably the more popular one, the ones for substance abuse. Now, see, this is part two of my brave quest to get over my craving for an unbelievably intoxicating movie executive by the name of Tina Kennard.
I know what you’re thinking. Toxic? How can she be toxic? When the simple definition of toxic is something harmful, poisonous, unhealthy and potentially deadly to the human body.
Ah, but you see, you don’t know the whole story do you? You might think you understand but you don’t know a thing about what I’m going through. The confusion, the fear, all these overwhelming feelings that keep me up all night? They’re killing me. Slowly.. surely.. until I am reduced to nothing more than a pathetic shell of my former self. Let’s just say that Tina’s sweet poison. The kind that entices you with its exquisite taste, paralyzes your heart and before you realize it, you’re dead.
So.. detox.
I’m not entirely new to it. I’ve held my sister’s hand one too many times when she would check herself in rehab for drug or alcohol abuse – sometimes both at the same time. Kit really lived her life – to the detriment of her own self and that of the people who love her. She’s all better now, or so she claims. She’s clean and sober for seven months. Allegedly. Sorry if I hold on to a little bit of doubt. We all know that even the good ones experience a relapse. And Kit, well, she had her fair share of that – leaving me disillusioned and jaded.
Anyway, so I called her up last night. Speaking with Dan was good, but I needed someone who’d answer me with human words instead of quiet grunts, barks and incessant tail wagging. And I figured that if I would ask anyone’s advice regarding addiction, there’s no one better suited to dish out nuggets of wisdom than my own sister. She was relatively alert and lucid when I rang her up. Which is a good sign. Normally, she’d be slurring and stuttering her way into conversation. After some small talk, I went straight to the point and asked her what she thought was a good way to kill an addiction.

Absolutely delightful tale! I can’t wait for more!
Love the story it only took me until this chptr to figur out what was goint on, i know sometimes im slow lol, but no matter how hard bette tries to get reid of tina she will not be able two.
I agree with the others, detox may not be the solution to Bette’s problem. Maybe she should try going to a strip club, and see what happens there. LOL!!! I don’t think that will work for her either. Great story, and thanks again.
That was so funny and love it, Bette gonna be crazy until Tina is back lol. Please post more, thanks!
LMAOOOOO! This is hilarious…more please.
Maybe of trying to rid herself of Tina, Bette should try and make it work. It has got to be easier than trying to forget her.
Just read both chapters… twice, trying to savor every hilarious and endearingly outrageous morsel. I had tears running down my face laughing so hard. Cannot wait for the next step although I imagine it will be all for naught once Bette sees Tina. Thanks, Alchemy!

Ah, this was another classic, Alchemy. I don’t think Bette’s efforts are working so far… Thanks for the post!

This is so freakin’ funny and clever! Are you this funny in person? ROTFLMAO. More when you can.
Hmmm I don’t think the therapy is working, and if Bette fools herself enough to think it is, wait till Tina comes back home! Love this story, PPS:)
