The artist and the actress
I soon pushed her attitude towards me out of my mind. I used my images from the previous day to continue to paint. Once again I lost track of time.
The smell of coconut swirled around me. I nuzzled closer to the source. I could feel her hand on my head. Her face inched closer until her lips touched mine. She pulled away, trying to get up to walk out the door. Wait, I tried to say to her. I wrapped my arms around her midsection and buried my head into her shirt. Don’t leave, my heart told hers.
“Hey.”
I opened my eyes, her eyes the only thing I could see.
She was kneeling on the floor next to me. “How are you supposed to work if you are asleep?”
“What time is it?”
“Twelve fifteen.”
“Sorry.” I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.
“Have you been up all night?”
“Yes.”
“My my. You are quite the party animal that is twice in a row.” She leaned back on her heels so I could swing my feet to the floor.
“Hardly. I was painting all night.”
“I know.”
“Painting is hardly a party.”
She eyed me skeptically. “I think our definitions of a party are different.”
I had no idea what she was talking about so I stared at her blankly, in response.
“Can I get you water? You look like you’re still asleep.” She stood up to move to the kitchenette.
In an action the surprised us both, I grabbed her wrist. “What’s going on?”
The color rose into her cheeks. She heaved a dramatic sigh then sat down next to me. “I have no idea.”
“What did I do?” I was tired enough to lack my normal inhibitions. I took the hand I still had in my possession and placed in my lap. The two skin tones of our hands were the perfect compliment. Opposite and yet complimentary, I suddenly wished I could paint them.
I could feel her watching me. She rubbed her thumb across the top of my hand to gently get my attention. “You didn’t do anything. I was being silly.”
For some reason I could bring myself to look up at her. Instead, I watched the slow motion of her thumb against my hand. “I can’t imagine you being silly. You don’t strike me as the type.”

Mmmmmmmm coconut. Why do I get the feeling that they will hook up once and that’s it? Or they will only hook up when they get to work together?
I’ve known both actors and artists and sometimes they can be a bit impractical. If the painter managed her time better, she might have been able to do more than snooze in their time together.
Yea!!!! Your back, better than ever!! Of course. I would say to enjoy just being lazy you know school is going to start soon and well I know how that all goes! Love the story, I always love your stories.
This such a unique story. I guess the actress is questioning her desire for the artist. It sounds like she would like to be more than just be painted by the artist. I can’t wait for the P’s to roll around. Hurricane Patty! Hopefully it will just float around out in the open ocean and not cause any harm or damage to anybody.
I really liked this. She seems very human. Lord girl you have us all on pins a neddles. thanks
So I just finished the last chapter. I just thought I would tease you a bit.
Great Post.
What 2 0f 3? I really love this story, it’s just brilliant. More PLEASE :)
Yep love this story!!!!!!!!!
Oh that was so cute! Thanks for the update! I am waiting for your next post. Just a question though… Are thesae two going to remain nameless or would I be correct in concluding that Bette is the artist and Tina is the Actress? Or are you going to throw me for a loop and twist things up, making these characters I would never think they were?Whatever and whomever they may be, I like this story. Keep it coming. =)
Valerie, this is really really good. Now that you have posted a second chapter I can honestly say that I have missed your writing. Please continue writing your stories for us because they are just wonderful.

This story is just great. I’m an artist also, it’s been a long time since I’ve done portraits and nudes. If she’s only finished with her eyes and mouth, she better get going to make the auction. But I guess if any of the models I worked with looked like Bette? (I’m assuming) I suppose I wouldn’t be getting a whole lot done either. Love the story!!
definitely have missed you around here. This is really great. My mind-Bette is the artist. Tina the actress.
