    The Canvas of Our Life….Ch.13

    Previously.

Tina stands up to leave still puzzled as to what happened that caused their conversation to take this unfortunate turn. She takes one last look at Bette before walking out of her room. She starts down the staircase slowly wishing like ***** things had gone differently. As she walks out the front door to her car, she suddenly stops dead in her tracks.

“Oh my godshe thinks I was apologizing for the kiss. That’s it!”

Tina quickly turns around running back through the foyer and up the spiral staircase. She stops short of Bette’s door and takes a deep breath.

    KNOCK KNOCK

“Please not now, II couldn’t find the Do Not Disturb sign to hang on my door.”

“If I promise not to disturb you again will you let me in?”

    “Tina? Did you forget something?”

    “Betteplease let me in.”

Bette opens the door slowly trying to dry the tears from her eyes that had flowed freely once Tina left the room.

    “Can I come in?”

    “Sure.”

Tina enters the room as Bette resumes her position at the edge of the bed. Tina stands directly in front of her as she reaches out to Bette’s chin raising her head up to make eye contact.

“I’m so sorry. I think you misunderstood me a few minutes ago. BetteI wasn’t apologizing for the kiss Bette. I was sorry that I chose to ride with Eric and not you.”

Tina leaned in touching Bette’s lips to hers. Softly at first but then harder. Bette reacted by reaching up and cupping Tina’s face gently pulling her closer. Tina gasped feeling an immediate ache radiating through her entire body. Every cell in her body wanted Bette to take her. Tina began to push Bette further onto the bed urging her to lay back. Reluctantly Bette gently pushed Tina back.

“Tinathank you for coming back. I was obviously mistaken. As much as I would love to keep you right here. I need to talk to you.”

“Jeezeverybody wants to talk to me.” Tina said to herself.

    “What?”

“Oh nothing. What do you need to talk to me about?”
