    The Canvas of Our Life…Ch16

“We gotta stick togetherus girls. Now get going!”

As the women exited the police station they heard Eric in the background shouting at another officer.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVE TO START THE PAPERWORK OVER? IS THIS SOME KIND OF A JOKE? ARE YOU PEOPLE INCOMPETENT?”

“Mr. Cruzone more outburst like that out of you and I may suddenly need to tak a looong lunch break right now!”

Bette and Tina couldn’t help but laugh as they descended the steps of the station. The two officers from earlier were gone now explaining how the remaining officersall female, were able to detain Eric for so long.

They saw the green Honda parked in the back of the lot with a young women wearing a ballcap in the drivers seat waving to them. Bette opened the door to the front seat allowing Tina to get in, and then climbed into the backseat.

“Hello ladies! I’m India, my girl called me little while ago and said you two were gonna need a ride. She said one of you has a father who’s really sick.”

“That is so kind of you, my name is Tina and this is Bette.”

Bette reached over from the back seat to shake her hand thinking she was quite a cutie. She flashed her best Porter smile at her without thinking and it wasn’t missed by Tina.

“Ahem It’s my father who is in the hospital and he’s very ill. I wasn’t planning on this little delay and I really need to get back there right away.”

Tina said looking very disappointed at Bette who cowered in the backseat.

“Being in love might be harder than I think.” Bette thought to herself.

“Well don’t worry I’ll get you there quick. Alicia said that those two ***** Green and McDonald weren’t very nice to you. This town isn’t very accepting. Small town, with small minds.”

“Yes, but they’ll get what’s coming to them. My lawyer is already building a discrimination case against them. They messed with the wrong woman when they messed with me!”

“Well good luck. Here’s my number if you two need anything.!”

    1. You gotta love this version of Tina’s father. Let him hang on. That Bette, but you know sometimes we flirt and its completely innocent. HAHA, besides Tina’s already got her figured out. There too cute.

    2. I’ve enjoyed your story, including this chapter. Sorry about your leg, but what’s age got to do with it? Ever read “Silas Marner”? Young, middle, old-anybody can get seriously screwed up sledding.

    3. Hope Tina’s father gets well enough for Tina to talk to about everything..especially Bette. Bette got caught flirting…how cute was Tina getting jealous. Really like this story, please continue. Happy holidays, enjoy and be safe.

    4. Hey great chapter. Can’t wait to see Eric and the small-minded police officers get what’s coming to them! B&T are so cute! I love the way you write them. I hope you are off the crutches by now and that you are inspired to carry on the fic. Love it! Thanks.
