Tina was speechless. She saw the love in Bette’s eyes and was overwhelmed. She felt her knees growing weak beneath her, and slowly sank down she was kneeling opposite Bette.

“Bette Porter” she breathed “nothing would give me greater pleasure than to be your wife”

A smile crept across Bette’s face as she looked down briefly. When she looked back up into Tina’s eyes a tear trickled down her cheek. Tina softly wiped it away and smiled at her warmly.

“I love you” Bette whispered.

Tina cupped Bette’s face with both of her hands and planted a lingering kiss on her lips. They rested their foreheads together, their eyes looking down at their hands. Slowly and carefully Bette took the ring from its box and slid it onto Tina’s wedding finger. They kissed again as if to seal the engagement. They looked up and stared deeply into each others’ eyes.

“I can’t believe this” Tina whispered, before starting to cry.

Bette pulled her into her arms so that they sat on the floor, holding each other.

“I wanted it to be a surprise. I asked Alice to see how you felt about commitment whilst making sure you had no idea what I was planning” Bette explained.

“Well it definitely worked!” Tina laughed.

“I’m sorry it happened how it did”

Tina looked up into Bette’s eyes “I’m not. It made it so much more special”

Bette stroked her cheek “you deserve something special”

“I love you so much” Tina pulled Bette to her for another kiss.

“You and me” Bette took Tina’s hand and laced their fingers together “forever”

“Forever” Tina confirmed.

“Thank you”

“For what?”

“Saying yes”

“It was never going to be anything else” Tina kissed Bette softly “so what happens now?”

“Whatever we want”

“Well what do you want?”

“Me? Well I don’t want to rush anything. I want us to take our time and have the perfect wedding. What about you?”

“I want the same as you. Plus, I want us to spend as much time together as possible” Tina added.

“And what will we do in that time?” Bette grinned.

“Oh, I’m sure we’ll find something to do” Tina grinned back.

“Mmm” Bette moaned as she kissed Tina deeply.

“There’s a lot more where that came from” breathed Tina.

“Oh I hope so” Bette smiled and stood up, holding her hand out to Tina.

“Thank you” Tina smiled as Bette helped her to her feet.

“Well, I think we need to seal our engagement properly” Bette whispered seductively.

Tina leant in and captured Bette’s mouth with her own. Their mouths pressed together, their tongues seemed to dance in each others mouths. Both women moaned into the kiss. Tina’s fingers scrunched Bette’s curls, while Bette’s hands explored Tina’s back.

“Now nice as that is, I can think of better ways to seal the deal” Tina breathed.

“I want you” Bette rasped.

“You’ve got me. Forever. I’m all yours” Tina took Bette’s hands.

“Let’s go home”
