Bette looked from Tina to the woman, and back to Tina again.

“Hey man, I wasn’t hitting on your girl” the woman held up her hands.

“T?”

“It’s fine, we were just talking” Tina squeezed Bette’s hand.

“Right” Bette was still glaring at the woman.

“Bette” Tina took hold of Bette’s shoulders and turned her to face her “do you trust me?”

“Yes” Bette calmed down “I’m sorry, yes T, I trust you”

“Good” Tina kissed Bette softly.

Bette turned to the woman “I’m sorry, I’m just a little protective”

“That’s cool. She’s a great looking woman, you got a right to be”

Bette smiled and put an arm round Tina.

“I’m Bette” she held out her hand.

The woman shook her hand “Shane”

“It’s a pleasure, Shane”

“Likewise. Well I’m sure I’ll see you around. Later, guys” Shane smiled and walked away.

“So she really wasn’t hitting on you?” Bette put her arms round Tina’s waist.

“Bette, why is it so hard for you to believe that some people just want to talk to me without wanting anything more?”

“Because you’re so goddamn hot”

Bette pulled Tina close and they kissed.

“Baby, you have to let me talk to other people, you know that? You have to trust me to make my own judgements” Tina rested her hand on Bette’s shoulder.

“I know, I know. It’s not you I don’t trust, it’s other people. Other women”

“I can handle myself Bette”

“You’ve never been hit on by a predatory *****”

“Really? I’d say that’s exactly what happened to me with you” Tina pointed out.

“Okay, point taken”

“But I do love the fact that you’re so protective of me” Tina kissed Bette’s lips lightly.

“Really?”

“Yeah. Now why don’t you take me to the dance floor and show everyone I’m your woman”

“It would be an honour” Bette took Tina’s hand a led her to the dance floor.

They continued to hold hands as they danced looking into each others eyes.

Bette moved her body to the rhythm and encouraged Tina to do the same by lifting her arm in the air. Bette sang along with the next set of words.

She moved closer to Tina and their hips started to grind together.

Bette pulled Tina closer and sang softly into her ear.

Tina squeezed Bette’s arse firmly and smiled.

“I know what I wanna do” she whispered.

“You’re insatiable” Bette replied.

Tina grinned and grabbed Bette’s arse tighter, which pulled their bodies together as the song faded out and a slower one came on.

They danced in each others arms and pressed their bodies close together. Bette caressed Tina’s back and Tina ran her hands softly through Bette’s hair.

They kissed softly and for a moment there seemed to be no-one else in the world. Staring into each others eyes, they both knew that they’d been stupid to even contemplate not being together.

“I love you” Bette whispered.

“I love you too” Tina replied, before kissing Bette gently.

They were interrupted by Alice jumping between them.

“Dana and I are gonna call it a night…and maybe you two should before your little floor display gets x-rated”

“Bye Al” said a slightly annoyed Bette.

“Yeah, bye” Tina took Bette’s hand.

“It was really great to meet you, Dana” Bette smiled at Dana, who seemed to be embarassed as she half hid behind Alice.

“You too” Dana managed.

“I hope we see you soon” Tina smiled.

Alice and Dana smiled and left.

“Come on, let’s get you home” Bette put her arm round Tina and they followed the others out to the car park.
