THE L WING Chapter 209
Narration of President Bette Kennard Porter
I am actually getting used to being awake at 2am every morning. Though that’s probably because I take a 60 minute nap in the afternoon when Ella is asleep- not sure I am going to be able to do that when we go back to Washington late next week. This morning Ella has been sick twice and I’ve had to change her diaper twice and she’s taking forever to go to sleep. But gradually I am winning that particular struggle. I wear as little as possible when I am feeding her so my skin can be as close to hers as possible. She really seems to like the physical contact.
My dad told me that it was one of the few things that comforted me when I was keeping them awake at night. For some reason this thought comes back to me tonight when I am smiling at my daughter. Am I a better mother than my mother was to me ? I hope to God that I am. I could never foresee any circumstances when my first, second and only consideration was not Ella and Tina.
“Hey there “
I almost jump out of my skin – I don’t usually get company for my night shift with Ella. Its Lucy wearing PJ’s that are far too big for her. I smile at her
“What are you doing up at this time of the night ?”
She comes in and sits facing me – she reaches forward and touches Ella’s face
“I could touch her skin forever “
“I know “
“She is so lovely “
“She is – so why are you awake at daft hour of the morning. At least I have an excuse”
“I was talking to Alice online “
“Yes – I remember that Alice is a night owl “
“She is – she was telling me about a place that she has seen that she wants me to come up to Washington and look at “
“Close to work ?”
“Columbia Heights “
“Expensive “
“Is it ?”
“Well everywhere in Washington is fairly expensive because of how many Politicians and White House employees live here. Plus its near the University and there are some great shops there “

Bette should wait until after they have had the night of intimatacy to show Tina the pictures. If she does not, it is going to blow up in her face and she won’t be getting to kis anything on Tina, let alone her lips.
i also think tina will know the pics are staged and she isn’t going to be so happy about it.. plz update again very soon !!
it will be interesting when T hears about the staged pics….well lets hope they have a good night of re-connecting with each other again..great post….
I applaud Bette for trying to have Tina seen in a good light. It will be a confidence buster for Tina even if she finds out about Bette knowing about it before hand anyway photographers are very crafty people even if security has been tightened someone would have found a way to get more pictures just lucky it is someone Bette aproves of. PPS

I’d say that Bette is just a tad frustrated (and rightfully so). Hopefully Tina gets over her body issues and back to loving her wife (physically) soon. PPS!
I’m thinking as others have said that Tina may not be so happy about this – but I await the authors vision. Bette is being extremely sweet and patient albeit a bit manipulative but out of love at least.

i’m still wondering fi she has postpartum depression, she is due in for a checkup when gets back lets hope the doctor will pick it up? i hope the pictures would do her some good but she is smart and i think she’ll figure the pictures were staged! especially since they just tighten security. nice update… pps please let bette get stuck in the dog hosue too long if tina figures things out!
Maybe an intimate dinner and evening will make Tina feel a lot better not to mention the pictures while out walking. As former press sec. don’t you think she will realize the pictures were staged? Hope she doesn’t or Bette will sleep in the garage. Still no one has addressed the problem of post partum depression that she is probably experiencing right now. And she has had other problems with depression, right?, so it would be easy for the post partum to be overlooked.At any rate she needs the extra help right now. Great chapter. PPS
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I realize that Bette was trying to counter the negative publicity by arranging the photos of their walk, but to stage it without Tina’s knowlege is duplicitous and authoritarian, traits I cannot admire. And a very superficial approach to the problem. Tina needs to see a doctor. And as for sex, well shit, leave the lights off for a while.

Ally you have created hundreds of monsters. You have not been posting your usual amount, I’m in L-wing withdrawl and I’m sure I’m not the only one. It is way to unhealthy now adays to force a lot of women to lose the baby fat so to speak. Most who are either have nannies, personal trainers, or do silly eating habits…actually probably all three. Is tina getting a bit of post partum do you think?? Sounds like it’s heading that way, pls keep an eye out for that. Something tells me that that diagnosis wouldn’t go over well with Mrs K-P. Please post soon!!!

Ok…how can Tina as a former press secretary not know that these pics were staged?? I hope this doesn’t backfire on Bette and she’s left in the cold with no cuddling time at all!!! PPS
shit!!! what if Tina finds out that Bette orchestrated the walk and the photos??? She will hate her for it & there will be no nookie for the President…EVER!!!!! Lmao… But T’s condition is serious & it’s not something that a woman can be jollied or sexed out of believe me…post-partum is crazymaking just like any other form of depression…it requires time, exercise, meds and hope as opposed to despair…the mind is a powerfully uncontrollable force at times..it takes more than sheer willpower…pps

Oh man..in your hands Ally I don’t think Tina will like these photos. She is already feeling horrible about how she looks, and to now have her body plastered all over whatever magazine or paper gets the photos is not going to take that away. It will add to it, that people are looking at her body and making assessments about it. She needs time, time to adjust and gain some confidence back about her body.
