    THE L WING

    CHAPTER 313

    Narration of First Lady Tina Kennard Porter

    　

    I duck under the water and come up – Bette is pushing her hair out of her face and laughing. I shake my head

    “This is unreal “

    “I know – she has emailed me the details – I will read them to you later  – in fact I might read them so many times I will know them by heart. A staunch right winger has been exposed as being a screaming hypocrite  – she opposed every piece of gay equality legislation. “

    Its just a dream come true for every democrat

    “Do you want to go back to Washington ?”

    “Why would I want to go back ?”

    “Because it will be Thanksgiving, Christmas and 4th July for every democrat on the Hill and in the White House. There will be a party going on in the West Wing “

    “I know “

    “So do you want to head back ?”

    “No  – we can watch it from here and enjoy it – this is for every democrat who has taken shit from red-necked fuckwits for their beliefs that equality of rights is just something so fundamental. I am sure that there will also be some fun for the moderate republicans as well.”

    “Its just amazing Bette – what the hell is the story ?”

    “Lets get out of the water and explain to your parents that we haven’t gone insane”

    “Okay “

    Bette takes hold of me and we kiss “I love you “

    “I love you – and its so fantastic that we have shared this moment – thank you”

    We walk out of the water and Bette wraps the towel around me and we walk up the beach

    “Is this contagious ?”  dad asks

    “I think it might be “

    Dad hands a towel to Bette – she smiles “Thanks “ she wraps it around herself and sits down and picks Ella up and kisses her

    “How is my sweetest angel ?”

    “She is probably wondering what has got into her mommies “

    “Do you know who Patricia Benn is ?” Bette asks “

    “Yes – blonde not very nice Republican. Face like she is chewing a rather lemon flavoured wasp. She is the worst face of the Republican party – we have friends who are republican and they disown people like her “ mom says – she is pretty well clued up with politics

    2. Wonderful update. Somehow I don’t think we have heard all there is to know about holly “effing” lancaster and all she has had to say about lesbian politicians etc. The rest of the news about her should be very interesting. Hope she had time to get all her money out of the house and in a safe deposit box so that it is not now ashes, would hate to see all that money gone. As for Bette and Tina they will be alright now that they have had their talks and cleared the air. Tom was right Tina had been eclipsing Bette in the press and that was not a great thing to have happen. Tom was also right in that Tina had her dreams come true so why was she doing the things she was. Maybe it was trying to become more entrenched in politics for when she would be running for governor, at least that is what I thought at the time that she was doing all that running and going. Hopefully she will slow down and when they are out of the whitehouse she can get going full steam ahead towards that goal. I don’t want to see her give up just yet. Wonderful update AllyE and I just hope that we will get to read some of that writing in the future that you are doing now in the form of a hardback. Get after it and have a lot of fun writing, we will be here when you return. Much success to you!!!

    4. Hi Ally, I am loving this new twist as Bette and Tina have been throught hte mill and yet now have found each other again. There was fault on both sides but they were able to work through it. Recognizing your part is major and now the air has been cleared I can’t wait to read more. All this and you are going to be away.
