    “The President is anxious that this does not distract the country from the current political debate about gun laws. I have to say that I am surprised at serious political reporters such as you lot – people with gravitas . You are getting into an area the National Enquirer does so much better than all of you. This is not – I repeat NOT a sex scandal – no one was exploited or did anything that they didn’t want to – yes James ?”

     

    “Will the President consider Senator Peabody for a cabinet post after this incident and given that she dated you ?”

     

    “I am not aware there are any vacancies for cabinet positions at the moment. But the President will continue to hire based purely on talent  – yes “

     

     

    She is about to point to another journalist – gradually she is calming down the room. It is less like a bear pit it was a few minutes ago. But a voice from the back of the room cuts across.

     

    “Is the President hiring all these attractive single , gay women because she doesn’t have a partner ?”

     

     

    I am almost out of my seat in fury — WTF !!!

     

     

    Tina looks angry – I see her eyes blaze – but with great deliberation she raises one eyebrow into the camera that has her on close up.

     

    “So – Jean – you are implying that the President of the United States of America hires people purely because she fancies them ?”  Tina laughs

     

    “That is not only absurd but offensive . The Senior Staff were hired because of their political skills AND ON NO OTHER BASIS. This administration has an approval rating in the high 60′s/low 70′s  – we do not get that because we are all lesbian bimbos hired by the President to give her a cheap thrill.

    Since President Porter took office we have reduced inflation by 1.5%, cut unemployment by 2 million, we have taken half a million pensioners out of the poverty trap, drug dealers are getting stricter sentences and we are committed to hiring two new teachers for every high school in  the country – a move our republican colleagues are trying to veto. Jean – you keep under-estimating us like that and the President will keep running the country the way that people want — okay – we have no more comments on this trivial matter – that’s a lid for tonight folks “

     

     

    I hit the off button and lean back. Tears start to form – I am so proud of her and so full of love for my darling partner. I want to run out of the office and hug her. Just wait until I get her alone

Did you tell Ally about the bed?Ok, I must admit I have broken a bed. However, the cops were not called and it was with another lovely woman with a name that starts with a H. The bump on my head was pretty nasty.For awhile I thought I was going to be having sex with all three or them. Not that my fictional self would have minded! If that would have happened I 100% sure I would have called out sick the next day, I would have been exhusted!

    27. That was nice and satisfying. I’m curious to see if Tina gets between Bette and Shane’s relationship. Shane has got to be a bit jealous of the intimate way Tina gets to interact w/ Bette but what about Bette referring to Tina as her best friend. Didn’t that used to be Shane’s role??? Late night talks w/ the president. I’m curious to see where you take the Bette Shane relationship. Keep the chapters coming, the sooner the better.

    29. Great chapter. I really enjoyed the scene when Bette is watching Tina do her job so well – I felt really proud too. Hope Shane has reason to cheer up again soon – perhaps some love interest or at least being reconciled to B&T’s relationship better. Thanks for posting. Still can’t wait for more – I think I’m insatiable so don’t take any notice, write when you are inspired to.
