“Shane, thank god where’s Bette?”

Shane smiles and says “sorry Al I can’t tell you” she continues to shoot and Alice takes the ball

Alice says ” I need to know right now”

Shane shakes her head and says “sorry Al I really can’t tell you that”

Alice becomes frustrated and blurts out “Tina has a boyfriend”

Shane says “your fucking lying”

Alice smirks and says “I would love to be” she then adds “but I’m serious this time…he’s on his way over”

Shane says “and how do I know your not just trying to be noisy?”

Just then a guy entered the gym and said “excuse me ladies, do you two happen to know who Ms. Kennard is?”

he stands waiting for a response

Alice and Shane turn around. Alice looks at Shane and Shane looks at Alice. They both say “no, sorry we don’t know who she is”

he smiles and says “thanks for your help” he waves and continues down the hall asking someone else

Shane says “oh shit” she rubs her head

Alice says “where’s Bette?”

Shane sighs and says ” she and Ms. Kennard are in the pool”

Alice says “lets go, we gotta tell her”

Shane’s mouth opened wide. She could see Bette’s face and the sadness that would fill it. She says “yeah your right come on”

Shane takes off running and Alice follows. They get to the door and it’s locked. Shane taps her leg and says

“damn it…there’s gotta be another way” she looks around

Alice says “wait…wait…wait…there is another way…come on”

Alice and Shane take off down the hall. They make their way upstairs and creep into the bleachers. Bette and Tina are gone. Where the hell did they go? Alice and Shane exit the pool and head back down stairs. They check the locker room. No Bette. No Tina

“fuck” Shane recites out loud

Alice and Shane look at one another. They say “THE GYM!”

They both take off running again. They approach the door and walk through it. Both Bette and Tina were playing basketball hugging and kissing one another. They were carrying on like two teenagers in love. Shane slams the door and Bette looks up. She smiles saying

“hey Shane, Hey Alice”
