The Long and Winding Road 31

“Our sons will appreciate good food “ Tina pronounced finally laughing at the look of “ get out of here “ on Bette’s face.

Tina rested her head on Bette’s shoulder. Bette took gentle hold of her woman. She was anything but okay about the two men who had shared Tina’s bed but she had vowed not to air her views to Tina. They were slowly rebuilding their relationship and this was a huge roadblock. It could totally derail all their good work. They had worked hard, both forgiving the past errors of the other – but they were both pregnant and that made their hormones like an unexploded bomb.

Bette did not want to lose Tina and she knew that Tina was very low about what had happened. Their relationship and providing a loving environment for themselves and their children far outweighed the revulsion that Bette had endured watching the two men at dinner and imagining them making love to her precious Tina.

“I guess we are equally in something “ Tina muttered.

    “What’s that T ? “

“We have both been unfaithful “

Bette stiffened – this was a sprint across a field of land mines.

“I hardly think that me cheating on a seven and a half year relationship with the woman who has always been my destiny equated to you having two random “

She paused dismissing the two words she had been going to use – she fixed on a neutral word

    “Two random men “

Tina looked up at Bette and saw the sadness in her eyes.

    “I am sorry “

“I think we should drop it Tina – maybe talk tomorrow. You look as tired as I feel “

Tina nodded dumbly – the hurt in Bette’s eyes had shaken her more than anything that had happened at dinner. Bette turned the lights out and rolled onto her side – Tina spooned against her – fighting tears that Bette would be able to sense. How could she ever get over hurting Bette ?

    ==========================

The next morning Tina was due to go into the office early – so her alarm sounded at 6:30 and by 7:15 she was ready to leave. She crept back into their bedroom and sat beside Bette who was sleeping soundly . Tina stroked a few rogue strands of hair away from Bette’s face

    1. I agree with Lamey, NO ABORTION. It would crush Bette and maybe their life together. I really don’t think that Bette could take the idea of an abortion after loosing theor first child. Yes, Shane is trust worthy, but Tina needs to trust Bette and what she says. I guess it is only fair that Tina has Shane to talk to since Bette is talking to Helena, but they really need to rely on each other, because at the end of the day it will be them, their family and their life together. Please continue :o)

    2. Hey Ally! I agree – Bette has chilled alot. Can’t see her sitting through that dinner a few years back, that’s for sure! Great thought to have Tina consult Yoda! Shane always knows when to say what, and what not to say, and when. ??? Well you know what I mean! I understand why Tina has booked herself on the first class guilt trip that she is on – but what’s more importantly is the fact that she has learned something from this experience. She’s not nearly as naive as she was, and I have to agree with Bette when she says that Tina was “so lost.” Tina’s just really blessed to have Bette and her friends to light the path so she can find her way back. Hope you are well and you have a great weekend too! Thanks for another great chapter!

    3. I can understand Tina wanting to be held by Bette with no questions or comment. In Jobadge’s case, I think she just wants to cut to the chase. Can’t blame her. The only thing wrong with Tina talking to Shane is that she SHOULD be talking to Bette about her feelings.

    4. is good to Tina to talk to somebody else cause she can to pour out one’s woes and in this way maybe she won’t make comments to regrets. But she will to reward Bette for all her love! take care and i am so glad you post it!

    5. Does Tina think by talking to Shane her guilty feelings will disappear? That was a LOW BLOW equates the two infidelities as if that made them even. Tina still hasn’t totally forgiven Bette, IMO. I almost wish Bette wasn’t so forgiving of Tina fucking two random men and then having sex w/a pregnant Bette. She completely disregarded both Bette’s and the unborn baby’s health b/c she wanted some of Bette’s pussy. If that isn’t a skanky dog, I don’t know what is. She still has that passive-aggressive behavior and that morally superior attitude. And I am a huge TiBetter. Bette is so forgiving and accepts Tina’s lowlife behavior as Tina being “lost” b/c of something Bette did several years ago. Arrgghh.

    6. An abortion—where did that come from—don’t remember reading anything about that in this chapter–especially as Tina was so desperate to get pregnant that she had two one night stands because Henry couldn’t get her pregnant. Oh yeah—Henry the guy she was with when she had the one night stands—which means she cheated on him not Bette. Bette and Tina have put each other and themselves through hell and back. Hopefully their undying love and devotion can each have them forgive themselves and each other and move forward with the new and growing family they are soon to have. Ally, I love this story and all the others—present and past. Please keep writing your kind of B&T love for us. You are an amazing author. Thanks so much.

    7. Good chapter. Yes Tina’s secret is safe with Shane and maybe talk to Shane will help her and she will make thing right and make it up to Bette and take care of her and a baby. OK post soon please, thanks!

    8. Tina is really beating herself up over this. Tina did not cheat on Bette but on Henry but it was so out her character to do what she did. I am a little concerned about Bette. She said that the baby feels different. Like he is preparing himself to begin his outside life with his mothers.

    9. the emotional obstacles B&T are attempting to overcome are horrendous.you have given them ample room in their hearts to put it all past(i think). in the end it comes down to love. Sue

    10. Okay here’s what caused the “no abortion” outburst from me: “I have no idea what to do for the best.” It made me think that Tina was considering other options besides staying with Bette forever and raising 2 children with her. It was just a kneejerk reaction.

    11. Great chapter – I think meeting the two men was a dumb idea for both of them but they have been known to do dumb things before. Finding the way to heal this for Tina is going to be a challenge she doesn’t see to have matured in the way Bette has. Loving your writing as always – hope you are doing OK – keep on keeping on as the saying goes.

    12. I love them both, no more regrets, no agonising, what’s done is done…would it make any difference if Tina had got pregnant with some non raandom man like Bette did, sperm is sperm, a baby is a baby; and as for whose worse than the other? leave it alone…Candace is old news as is Henry…they both done each other wrong but for their sakes and for their babies MOVE ON…

    13. Great chapter as always Ally, and what concerts abortion, well that’s completely a decision to take for the couple, with no interference from whoever, that’s my opinion.

    14. I was eagerly waiting for a chapter from you and you certainly didn’t dissapoint. Thanks Ally! Love this story! Now that the ordeal of meeting the probable fathers is over, i think it’s time for B&T to move on. They both have a partner and a baby to take care of …

    15. Ah… you sweetie, i think I prefer oyster to clam!!! Do you know I desperately want Bette Porter to hold me with no questions and no comments too, TK better do whats right by her!!
