THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD — Chapter 18
“And when Helena had wiped the floor with Henry we came straight here “
Tina finished her narration – all the time she had been speaking she had been watching Bette to see how would react. Before she had come see Bette she had spoken to Dr Hope and Dr Jolston and explained what she was going to be telling their patient. They were both concerned about what it would do to Bette’s blood pressure and would monitor her extra carefully.
“And how do you feel now ? “Bette asked quietly looking at Tina and seeing all the signs of stress in her partner.
“Still shaking “
“Come here “
Tina got onto the bed and allowed Bette to pull her into a loving embrace. Tina held Bette, terrified that this would cause a relapse in Bette’s condition. Tina snuggled closer to Bette and smiled as she pulled Tina so her head was resting against the baby.
“Do you know how much I love you Tina “
Bette whispered as she began playing with Tina’s long curly hair.
“As much as I love you ? “
“Well that’s not possible T. I have this HUGE amount of love for you – the love that has grown stronger over the last ten years. And as well as my love for you I have inside me all the love he’s going to have for his mommy T “
Tina began crying – she couldn’t believe everything that was happening. She held tightly onto Bette and relaxed into her partner’s embrace.
“Its okay Tina – its okay sweetie “
“I was scared “
“I know – I know – its okay – its over “
Bette moved Tina’s hair away from her neck and kissed the soft sensitive skin. Her love for Tina was so vast it took her breathe away. For so long she had wrapped Tina in cotton wool, tried to protect her when it was the world who needed protection from the blonde.
Tina was sassy and self assured – Bette should have just unleashed her on the world not got in her way by imposing some false image of Tina on her. Bette knew as she soothed her woman that they were equals in every way and she had to treat Tina in the same way that she would expect to be treated herself.

Hey Alley, That was sumptous and sweet. The tenderness and gentlenss of what Tina and Bette’s love and adoration came shining through this chapter. The depth of these emotions was evident in every exchage between these two. Suddenly the riff between them was gone and new ground appeared; rebuilding takes time and effort and a desire to succeed. These items are instilled in both Bette and Tina as they have realized and acknowledged their inner most thoughts and wants. And that is each other and this family. Hey,I love this sometime the road gets bumpie but it get smoother as time past. Love this and how the gang it there to take care of both of then I should the three of them. Dont kill off any one in the L-W the all fit together like a glove and could Bette take it. thanks for both

The devotion that these two share comes from all the years that they have been together. That same love that they still share will get them through anything. The authors of their own demise so fits them here and in the show. Loved the family talk of Tina carrying the second child and it being a girl. Also loved the half sister and brother part. AS always a wonderful chapter to this illustrious story.

Great chapter on this wonderful story of love and re-commitment. Hopefully Bette can keep her blood pressure down and not get too riled at Henry. Certainly hope old Henry will leave them alone because if he does not, the gang will tear him limb from limb. So happy that you ohave had them give each other another chance at love and happiness, they do so deserve all they can find in each other.
