(Outside the ward)

[Tina touches Bettes hair.]

Tina: (softly) Bette .

[Bette slowly looks up. She appears fatigued & tormented. Redness in her eyes.]

Bette: (shock & dumbfound) .

[Tina holds Bettes face with both hands. Tears flow down her cheeks.]

[Bette opens her mouth but finds no word, her eyes watery. She notices the bandage on Tinas head. She moves her hand to Tinas forehead but is hesitating to touch it.]

Tina: (crying) I miss you .

[Bette cries.]

Bette: I, I miss you .

[Bette and Tina bring their foreheads together.]

Bette: (crying) Im so sorry . Im really am .

[Bette gently kisses Tina on her forehead. They hug like never before.]

Tina: (crying) Our baby . Sorry Bette . I lost our baby .

[Bette releases from the hug. She is taken aback.]

Bette: Our baby? What baby?

[Tina could not stop crying.]

Bette: (stun) Oh god . god .

[Bette falls back. Her head knocks onto the wall.]

[Bette turns blank. She knocks her head hard continuously against the wall.]

Tina: (crying) Please Bette . I cannot take anymore ..

[Tina tries to stop Bette. She grabs her and rests her head on Bettes shoulder.]

Bette: Retribution .

Tina: (crying) No, no . please dont say so .

Bette: Retribu.

[Tina presses her lips against Bettes.]


(Inside the ward)

Shane: (to Helena) Im sorry. We didnt notice you earlier. Our minds were all about Tina.

Helena: (weak smile) Ya. Is Tina I mean, somebody outside?

[Helena moves her eyes to the door.]

Shane: Oh, you mean Bette?

Alice: (cuts in) Bette is Tinas partner, life partner to be exact. You know what I mean?

Dana: (to Helena) Tina is Bettes wife. (to Alice) Its that simple to explain.

[Alice gives a quick stare at Dana. Helena looks disappointed.]

Shane: Lets see what is happening outside.

[Helena takes her handbag.]

Helena: Err, I need to go. Ive an appointment.

Shane: (to Helena) Oh, I see. Maybe you should say goodbye to Tina first.

[Helena nods her head. Shane walks towards the door. Alice, Dana and Helena follow.]


(Outside the ward)

[Bette and Tina are holding each other and passionately kissing. Shane, Alice, Dana and Helena walk out of the ward and see them.]

Alice: Here they are, the lovebirds.

Shane: So ***** loving, arent they?

Dana: Ya, ***** loving.

[Alice and Dana steal a glimpse at each other. They quickly look away.]

[Helena looks uneasy. Shane sees her and feels suspicious.]

Shane: (coughs loudly) Errrmm .

[Bette and Tina releases from each other. Both blush as they look up and see the gang.]

Helena: Um, I have to go.

[Tina quickly wipes away her tears using her hand. She tries to stand up. Bette helps her up.]

Tina: (to Helena) Youre going off now?

[Helena moves her eyes to Bette, then to Tina, signs of jealousy.]

Helena: Ya, I have an appointment.

[Tina limps towards Helana. Bette is aiding Tina to walk.]

Tina: (to Helena) I, I do not know how much to thank you. (to Bette) Helena saved my life, Bette.

Helena: (weak smile) No that was not.

Bette: (to Helena) You have saved both our lives. If Tinas not around, I do not think I can live either..

[Bette and Tina stares into each others eyes. Tears in their eyes.]

Bette: (to Helena) You are our savior. I know words cannot express our gratitude but. thank you.

[Helana looks at Tina.]

Helena: Um, I need to go. You take care.

[Helena walks away. She turns her head to take a last look at Tina. Bette is wiping the tears from Tinas face with her hands. Tina kisses Bettes hand. Helena turns back her head and walks into the lift.]

(Music plays – Cannonball by Damien Rice)

Tina: (gently) Bette, you know what?

[Bette looks tenderly into Tinas eyes.]

Bette: What?

Tina: Remember you said I was the love of your life?

[Bette nods her head. Her eyes redden.]

Bette: Youll always be, Tee. Always.

[Tina smiles.]

Tina: You know what Im thinking now?

[Tina whispers into Bettes ear. Bette raises her eyebrows. They chuckle.]

[Bette and Tina start to kiss.]

Dana: Oh no! Not again..

Alice: (looks left and right) Not here, please

Shane: (cross arms) So ***** cute, arent they?

[Shane, Alice and Dana walk away. Bette and Tina still holding and kissing each other.]
