Alice: She and Angus have really settled down, haven’t they?

Shane: And she’s got a baby on the way.

Bette: And she’s sober.  But she still parties.

Alice: Amen to that.

Shane: Agreed.

Bette: For a while it was what, just the five or six of us?

Alice: Let’s see…me, you, Shane…Tina…Dana…Kit….seven if you count Marina.

Shane: Yeah I think she counts.

Bette: I remember it well.  Me and Tee used to call you two and Dana the Three Musketeers.

Alice laughs.

Shane: We did hang out a lot.

Alice: Yeah, Shane.  Me, you and Dana…we barhopped like crazy together.

Shane: Life before everything got so….dramatic.

Bette: Well…that could be attributed to a couple of things.

Alice: Like what?

Bette: For one thing, me and Tee wanting to have a baby.

Shane: Oh, those donor searches….

Alice: …Nightmare.

Bette: But then you factor in Jenny moving in next door to me and Tee.  She was with Tim and then….

Alice: She was with Marina.

Shane: Poor Tim.

Bette nods.

Bette: I think Tim’s only now getting over that.

Alice: Yeah…Bette and Tina wanting to have a baby….Jenny moving in…..and then…Lara.

Bette and Shane look at Alice.  Part of Alice’s mouth curls up in a smile.

Shane: Those were the days.

Bette: So honestly, Alice….what did you think of Lara back then?

Alice: Well…..I thought Dana finally found the perfect girl.  And I was right.  Kinda jealous, actually.  Dana had this beautiful girl who’d do anything for her and I was….

Bette: Dating lesbian men.

Shane: Or dealing with Gabby.

Bette: I think Gabby just felt like an outsider around us.

Alice: I don’t think she does now….at least not as much.

Alice: And then Dana and Lara broke up….and THEN she came out of the closet.

Shane shakes her head.

Alice: The timing there was really fucked up.

Bette: Lara was trying to trying to push her out of the closet, too wasn’t she?

Alice: She was trying to shove her out.  But by then we were all trying to.

Shane: She flew out of the closet and into the arms of Tonya.

Alice: God, I couldn’t fucking stand Tonya at first.

Bette: You seem to get along now.

Alice: Yeah….me and Tonya are friends now.
