    “Food’s ready. Come on let’s eat before it burns.” “OK.” Bette and Tabitha busied themselves getting plates and utensils. Bette served Tabitha a piece of fish and vegetables then prepared her own plate. They enjoyed the meal as the sun was setting creating a beautiful visual backdrop to the accompaniment of the classical music softly

    “Food’s ready. Come on let’s eat before it burns.”

    “OK.”

    Bette and Tabitha busied themselves getting plates and utensils. Bette served Tabitha a piece of fish and vegetables then prepared her own plate. They enjoyed the meal as the sun was setting creating a beautiful visual backdrop to the accompaniment of the classical music softly playing in the background.

    Helena had provided fresh strawberries for dessert. It was a rare pairing since typically one would have strawberries with champagne but Helena being a Master Sommelier had made an exceptional choice of wine that complemented the meal and the fruit wonderfully. After dinner the women laid back on the blankets in comfortable silence to star gaze; each lost in thought.

    Bette hated going behind Tabitha’s back especially now that she was considered a trusted friend. She feared what this would do to their relationship when Tabitha found out the truth but she was willing to take the risk. As she’d done by making the initial inquiry about Tabitha’s identity with the phone call to Tasha Williams Bette was again intruding on Tabitha’s right to privacy by covertly obtaining her latent fingerprints to provide them to the police.

    This went against her moral code of ethics but she felt sure that the end would justify the means. Her hope was that Tabitha’s true identity could be established beyond a doubt without causing further distress to the woman. Tabitha had already endured more suffering than any one person should be made to.

    Besides the fact that Bette would do anything for Tabitha’s well-being she was also being a bit selfish. She wanted to know everything there was to know about the woman that had so captured her heart. The doctor wasn’t just chancing Tabitha’s wrath by doing this sneakily but by pushing it along she could be accelerating Tabitha’s recall. The outcome of which might inevitably lead Tabitha to return to the previous life she’d known leaving the mocha beauty behind. Bette tried not to dwell on that possibility and just enjoyed the time they had for now.

    Back in her bungalow Bette picked up the clear crystal wine glass that Tabitha had drank from by the foot careful not to touch the stem or the bowl. She held it up to the light to confirm that the finger prints were clearly visible then carefully wrapped it in a linen napkin preventing any smudging before she placed it in a plastic bag. She was to meet one of Tasha’s most trusted deputies in town the following day to drop it off. He in turn would deliver it to the forensic specialist.

    3. well hello again. so good to return home to another chapter of a tale well told. game on with joyce in the loop now. I cannot wait for Jodi and Kelly to get their comeuppance when due. me wonders how the “wife” will weasel her way out of this one, especially with Kelly’s continuing neurotic behaviour. “maybe” Kelly will get a clue about Jodi’s intentions towards her, and decide being an accessory isn’t worth the time.

      ahh our two souls destined to be together. and what will become of them? will they finally confess to each other their “secret” attraction towards each other? will their two souls finally experience that ZING when their hands touch or when they feel their first embrace? ahh this dance between our two life mates…cannot wait for their real journey to begin together.

      and of course, I AM still #LOVINDAVE as he continues to be my own personal hero. thank you again, for allowing us all to venture this trek with you and for taking the time to share another timeless chapter of a tale well told. such a treasure to read!! happy journeys to you and welcome back.

    6. I was a little late to catch up with the story but I always read.
      really like the progress of this story, but now will be a slow process (I don’t mind so much)

      Finally Joyce meets Bette and Emma, and learn
      as Tina managed to survive.
      I love how Bette and Tina are finding in love,
      none of them speak, nor is it necessary to speak, their
      actions and gestures already say all, are in love each other.
      All Stars.
