    A B/T romantic comedy

    Bette turned her head to the side and saw Shane looking longingly back to her house. She smiled sadly. She wasn’t the only one nursing a broken heart except Shane’s had been slowly cracking open without her even noticing it had been full to begin with until it was too late.

     

    “How’s Jenny doing?” Bette asked gently breaking the silence.

    “She’s good.” Shane grinned. “She has been writing like crazy, though.”

    How fitting was the thought that immediately crossed Bette’s mind but she refrained from sharing it with the girl sitting next to her.

    “She decided to go back to basics so now she’s writing on this old typewriter and you can hear the sound of her pounding away at the keys everywhere in the house. It drives me nuts sometimes.” She shook her head good naturedly as she got up.

    Bette smiled amused.

     

    “Ok, I’m going to go make sure my roommate has eaten something. See you later Bette.”

    “Later, Shane.”

     

    And suddenly Bette found herself getting nervous again.

    The girls were all there. All except a certain blonde, Bette noticed not knowing if she was happy she had been the first one to get there or not. At least she wouldn’t be the one to decide how they would greet each other. Would Tina go for a kiss, a hug or just a simple holding of her hand?

    She decisively shook that thought out of her mind as she looked at her friends sitting at the table. Alice, Tasha, Shane, Jenny, some groupie of Jenny’s, Helena, Helena’s girlfriend Dusty and Kit. Bette couldn’t remember when had the last time been that she had seen them all in the same place at the same time. She inwardly cursed Alice and her delusions of grandeur. Did she really have to invite every single one of them?

     

    “Hi, everyone.”

    “Hey Bette.” They pretty much all answered at the same time except for Kit that got up to give her a hug.

    “Hey baby sis. It’s good to see you.”

    She returned the hug for a moment and then sat down as the talking around her resumed.

     

    “So, what have you been up to, sis?” Kit asked gently after regarding her for a while.

    14. like you i am a certified ff lword addict but honestly your story is no shit the one that has got me the most excited about lately…….really…..you have great writing ability and may inspire me to actually dip my feet into this ff writing pool one day. Trouble is when you serve it up this good you are now responsible for pushing your ff forward…..cause now we are all going to need our daily fix….

    17. This chapter was brilliant. Bette and Tina’s pull toward one another shows through there reactions to one another. I love that Tina whooped Jenny figuratively after her insensitive comments to Bette. Can’t wait for more.
