Tina: Why do I sense that its not what you want?

Shane: It is.

Tina: Are you …uhm…thinking about …you know…uhm…

Shane: oh God Tina you’re such a lez!

Tina laughed and threw a napkin at Shane.

Tina: Not kids…I was just gonna ask if you wanted some stability…and I wasn’t going to use the dreaded four letter word on you.

Shane sighed and looked Tina dead in the eyes.

Shane: I’ve got stability, I always have.

Tina gave her a questioning look, but knew the conversation was over when Shane came closer and sat down to get back to work. Meanwhile Shane smiled to herself, thinking about how Alice, her rock, had always been there for her, but just out of her reach.

Shane unlocked the door and quietly crept in. Alice left the kitchen light on and she could see from the light it cast throughout the apartment that the dining room table was set with dishes. Shane silently cursed and walked into the kitchen to check the fridge for whatever Alice had made. She found the tupperware with the beef strogganoff and put it in the microwave before creeping back into Alice’s bedroom. She stood in the doorway and watched as Alice’s breast rose and fell with each breath she took.

Shane crawled up the bed and propped herself up on her bad arm, while she brushed stray hairs from Alice’s face. Alice began to stir and Shane leaned in to whisper in her ear.

Shane: Hey Al… sorry I took so long, I didn’t know you had something planned for tonight, I thought you just wanted me to come over.

Alice: Mmm…. Shane?…don’t worry about it…what time is it?

Shane: Its after two…I ended up staying all night with Tina to figure out some of the business plan for the show.

Alice nodded but kept her eyes closed.

Alice: You sound tired…come to bed so we can get up early tomorrow.

Shane: Shhh…I can’t I have to work tomorrow.

Alice’s eyes fluttered open.

Alice: Shane…

Shane: I know we have plans to go shopping but Saturday’s are always my worse day… look, I want you and Dash to go and start looking around the place and pick out a bunch of stuff. I will be there by one and I can stay for two hours and I’ll take a look at what you guys picked out…which really means we’ll get whatever you two think I should get. Then I’ll run back to work and hopefully finish by seven and come back and we can set the stuff up together…if it all works out we might just get to spend a sunday in bed together.
