(The return of) Love’s Calling – 4: Connecting The Pieces

Bette: “I need you to run a few errands for me. Here is what I want you to do”

Jonathan: (after Bette had explained her master plan, he was looking at his
boss and wondering what she is up to) “You want me to do what?”

Bette: “You heard what I said.”

Jonathan: “Okay. I will be back when I can.”

Jonathan ran the errands that Bette wanted and he had done everything per her
instructions and he now found himself sitting in his car outside the Alphaville
studios trying to figure out how he was going to get inside. “What were Bette’s
exact words?” he thought. “Oh yeah they were, I don’t care what you have to do
but I want you to personally deliver that to Tina Kennard.”

He decided that he would try to explain to the security guard that he had a
delivery for Ms. Kennard and he prayed that they would let him in because he
really didn’t want to have to do anything drastic to get in. He pulled up to the
gate and started to plead his case.

Jonathan: “I have a delivery for Tina Kennard.”

Security Guard: “You can leave it at the gate and we will make sure she gets
    it.”

Jonathan: “I have been instructed to personally deliver this.”

Security Guard: (checking his list of names of people authorized to enter) “I
can’t let you in unless your name is on the list.”

Jonathan: “Look I have been instructed by my boss not to return to the office
until I deliver this personally to Ms. Kennard. Can’t you cut me a break and
    let me in?”

Security Guard: (Looking back seeing that there are several cars backed up at
the gate): “I’m sorry but I can’t do that because it could cost me my job. Just
leave the package and I will see that it gets to her.”

Jonathan: “If I do that I won’t have a head anymore.”

Security Guard: (getting upset now because of the backed up cars) “I don’t want
to be rude but make up your mind. You are holding up traffic.”

Jonathan had just made up his mind to turn around and try to find another way
to get in when he heard the guard talking to a woman who had apparently gotten
out of her car and walked up to the guard shack.
