The Settlement – Chapter 14
Please refer to Chapter 12 should you have any interest in refreshing your memory of this story. Admittedly, I had to upon resuming writing this. This post ends in continuation of that chapter.

Later, we lay awake both sated and replete. Preoccupied with emotion, lightheaded with our release we continued to touch each other, relishing in the contact of each other’s skin.
Our shared silence was finally broken by a tentative question. “Did everything…was tonight all right for you?” she asked.
My hand stopped its circular motion on her thigh, a little perplexed with the question. Didn’t she know? Couldn’t she tell?
My tone was full of emotion as I answered. “Bette it was more than ‘all right’. It was beyond exhilarating. I didn’t know I could feel so much.”
Reaching down, she urged my hand to resume its movement. Her own hand with fingers spread, skimmed my arm, stomach and torso with the slightest of touches. The feather light strokes intensifying my awareness of her closeness, a warm reminder of what we’d just shared.
After a pause another spoken thought came, still tinged with an intimation of hesitation. “You can tell me if you want me to do anything…if there’s something more that you need.”
Understanding dawned on me. She thought there was something I missed about being with a man. Without a doubt, nothing could be further from the truth. My body was markedly attuned to hers – not wanting or needing anything else.
Something she needed to know to assuage any ambiguity.
“Bette,” I called my lover’s name encouraging her to look at me and witness this truth.
“I don’t want anyone or anything other than you. Your touch…I feel I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. You’re all I need. This. You. Me. Us. Euphoria. Perfection.”
Sighing contentedly I whispered, “My body fits perfectly with yours.”
With that, tranquility visibly encompassed her as she raised herself over me slightly. “My body feels the same way,” she said as she leaned in for a slow, delicate kiss. It was a languid and comforting kiss, sealing our declarations of physical union and synchronicity.
Our mouths moved in perfect harmony. Slowly tasting, licking, and savoring the flavor of each other’s touch and skin, unhurriedly at first but swiftly our eagerness escalated.

“For indulging my delusion of creativity, thanks.” Indulging??? Delusion??? I don’t think so my friend. YOU can write, there’s no doubt about that. All I’m wondering is how I didn’t find this fic sooner! Don’t even think about stopping, I’m hooked.
Please continue with your story. I really missed seeing your updates. I would hate to see it end anytime soon. It’s written with so much sensitivity and care. Your words make it seem like the reader is right there with them feeling everything their feeling. Your friend is in my thoughts. Faith can move mountains.
I love your writing style. Please lworddid, drop the “?” behind the “TBC”.
I love your story, you have such a way with words, please continue!!!
lwordid dont even think about ending this story… u got me hooked from the start so now u got to finish … great chapter …
Just so you know You are on my favorites list! Continue on Please!!!
I became hooked at chapter one; but this statement from Tina, “This isn’t my side of the bed” sealed it for me.
Please post again soon. I cant express how much I am enjoying the words that flow from you.
Please continue with this story ~ I truly enjoy it.
I have a hard time sleeping if I’m not on ‘my side of the bed’. If it was only that simple for Tina ~ the fact that she still thinks so vividly of her encounters with Bette, she’s just not over her. At least, I hope she is not.
Great story and please do continue.
Your time in writing and sharing is appreciated.
I agree totally with Temp…love your writing style, and truly…drop the ? behind TBC. Thanks!
Ain’t nothin’ like the real thing, baby
Ain’t nothin’ like the real thing.(Write for me)
Ain’t nothin’ like the real thing, baby
Your writing’s like the real thing.
That last line was a killer!!!!
Of course you should continue. To put a question mark at the end of TBC is well…simply not necessary.
Your writing is neither prosaic nor pedestrian. There is an ease with which you capture a moment or feeling that brings everything into focus without over compensating in general composition. You go between present and past as easily as going through a revolving door. Nicely done.
I read all of your chapters and you must continue with this story. Your words and how you bring them together are beautiful. Please post soon
