The Tragedy

Shane lays in her bed and stairs at the ceiling. She has been on an Oxy binge for the past 3 days and is starting to come to. She tries to figure out what the ***** everybody wants from her. As she thinks, the anger builds up inside of her and she picks up her glass of water that is sitting on the bedside table and throws it across the room.
Damn it Shane shouts. Mark hears the crash from the living room so he goes to check on her. Mark gently knocks on the door

Mark: Shane can I come in?

Shane: Yeah

Mark opens the door and something crunches underneath his foot and he looks on the floor.

Mark: What the ***** happened?

Shane: Oh I accidentally knocked my glass off the table

Mark: Really? Yeah and it flew all the way over here

Shane: She bursts out Its none of your ***** business what I do, so get the ***** out

Mark: Shane you need help

Shane: How dare you tell me what I need? Get the ***** out now!

Mark hates to see Shane when shes like this and he wants to help because he has this infatuation with her.

Mark: You amaze me Shane. I want to know you but youre just so fucked up that its hard to. You need to open up to someone; it would help a lot

He walks over and touches her face, and she was astonished that some one had been so straightforward with her. For once she was not used to that.

Shane: You are right. I am fucked up, but thats me, thats Shane.

She smacks his hand away from her face. He is sick of her bullshit and pins her to the bed. Shane is shocked and stares at him for a while. Then they hear the door start to open but before they could separate, Carmen walks in. When she sees Mark and Shane, shes bewildered and quickly shuts the door. She stands outside the door for a minute trying to register what she had just seen. Back in the room Shane and Mark sit on the side of the bed.

Mark: Maybe I should go

Shane: Yeah, I think that would be a good idea

Mark opens the door and Carmen quickly runs down the hall. Carmen goes in the kitchen and sits on the counter and is contemplating about Shane; why she is being this way and what the ***** when on in that bedroom between Mark and Shane. Then she hears the slamming of a door. Carmen quickly wipes the tears from her eyes. Shane walks into the kitchen and there is a weird silence for a moment. Then Shane scratches her head and look at Carmen with her dark cold eyes.

Shane: I dont know what your thinking

Carmen looks at Shane and starts to tear up, then cracks a little smile.

Carmen: Thats funny, now you know how I feel

Carmen gets off the counter and brushes past Shane. She walks into the living room, grabs her coat and walks out the door. Shane stands there in a confused state for a while.

Shanes day goes past so slow. Later that night the phone rings, Shane answers and its Alice. She tells Shane that her and Dana are going to Bette and Tinas getting back together / house warming/ baby shower and that everyone is going to be there and that she better come. Shane does not feel like going but she loves Bette and Tina and she knew they would be there for her. So Shane gets her car keys and starts to head out the door. She runs right smack dab in to Jenny.

Jenny: Oh my god! You scared me so bad

Shane cracks her ***** flirty smile

Shane: Im sorry my head is not all in the right place right now

Jenny: Oh its ok. Hey! Are you going to Bette and Tinas?

Shane: Yeah I am headed that way right now, why?

Jenny: If you see Carmen, could you tell her I am not going to be able to make it? I have another paper to do Jenny does a pouty face at Shane.

Shane: Yeah sure

Jenny: Thanks. Give Bette and Tina my best

Shane pulls up, puts the car in park, and sits in her car for a few minutes in front of Bette and Tinas house. She thinks about having to confront Carmen after their little episode at the house earlier. She turns the car door, gets out and walks up to the door. Before she could knock the door opens and there stands Carmen. Shane looks down at her feet then looks back up. Carmen looks at Shane then grabs her by the tie and pulls her in to the guest bathroom right by the front door.

Carmen: God Shane I cant act like I am mad. You turn me on so bad that I cant control my self

Carman grabs Shane and puts her up against the wall

Carmen: I am so hot right now

Shane stops her and looks in her eyes

Shane: I never knew my dad, and my mom put me up for adoption when I was young. I was told she was a drug addict and I dont like eggplant.

Shane: smiles Is that how you open up? This is new for me, you will have to teach me

Carmen laughs and is so happy that Shane had just said those words

Carmen: what does this mean Shane?

Shane: what do you think this means? Isnt this what you wanted?

Carmen grabs Shane and kisses her. Yes baby, yes this is what I want

Shane: So you better shut up before I change my mind

Shane turns Carmen around and pins her hands to the wall. She kisses her wildly and holds her wrist with one hand while her other hand messages Carmens beast. Carmen takes off Shane’s shirt; Shane slides Carmens skintight pants off and places her on the sink. Shane slides her hands up and down Carmen’s thighs. Carmen sighs as if a big ball of stress has been lifted off of her. Shane slowly goes inside of her. She kisses her and bites her lower lip. Carmen breathes heavy. Shane moves her fingers faster and thrust her body against Carmens bronzed beautiful body

Carmen: ahhhhh uummmm

Shane: You like that?

Carmen: Oh yeah, harder!

Shane moves her body to the rhythm of Carmens breathing. Theyre getting in to it. All of a sudden the door opens and there stands Jenny. She had her hands in a fist and the tears welled up in her eyes she looked at Carmen and then at Shane.

Jenny: How was it Carmen?

Carmen: JENNY

Jenny: I dont want to hear it

Jenny storms out the door and gets in her car and speeds down the road. She goes back to the house she is so upset. She goes in the kitchen and gets a glass of water and she sees Shanes bottle of oxy sitting on the counter. She wonders what is so great about it. She wants to escape. She has made so many mistakes with love that she just wants to forget about it for a while, so she pops the bottle open and pours a hand full of them into her hand. She raises her glass of water then says Shane and Carmen this is to you. She puts the whole handful of pills in her mouth and makes her way in to the living room sits down puts her hands on the keyboard to her lap top and begins with How deadly love can be. As she types on, her hands and feet start to go numb. Then she slowly feels her eyes start to close

Meanwhile Shane and Carmen sit on the couch at Bette and Tina’s house

Carmen: What are we going to do?

Shane: We will just tell her the truth and explain that we are sorrywe will figure it out

Carmen: I think we need to go talk to her now

Tina walks in

Tina: Hey guys, what was that all about?

Carmen: Well Shane and I were hooking up in the bathroom and Jenny walked in on us

Tina: Jenny was here? I never even saw her or heard her come in. You know you have a mess on your hands

Tina shakes her head and then goes in the kitchen to join the rest of the girls

Shane looks at Carmen

Shane: Oh *****! Jenny told me that she was not going to be able to make it to the party tonight maybe she set us up

Carmen: I dont think so, because we have been mad at each other and we have not done anything to be suspicious about

Carmen: Hey I would feel so much better if we go talk to her

Shane: Ok lets go

Shane and Carmen say good bye to the girls and head out the door, get in the car and go to Shanes. They sit in the car for a few minutes.

Shane: Ok before we go in, I want you to kiss me and tell me that this is what you really want; there is no turning back after this

Carmen looks in to Shanes eyes and smiles leans over and lightly kisses her lips

Carmen: I want you and no one else. I dont want Jenny she and I would have never worked out. Now lets go and get this done and over with

Carmen opens the car door and Shane follows behind. Shane puts her key in and unlocks the door. They go in and see Jenny laid weirdly on the couch and a glass of water knocked over on the floor. Carmens heart drops to the floor she quickly rushes over to Jenny. Jenny she gently pushes on her. No answer she says her name again and no answer. Shane comes over and lays her head on Jennys chest

Shane: Shes not breathing

Carmen: Oh my god what have I done?!

Carmen puts her hand in her hair

Shane: I will go call an ambulance

Shane gets up and goes in to the kitchen and gets the phone and calls 911. As she is waiting for an answer she happens to look over and see her bottle of oxycontin tipped over on the counter and Shane went in to a daze, totally not realizing that some one was on the line now.

Dispatcher: Hello 911

Shane: Oh um my friend has over dosed on oxycontin and she is not breathing

Dispatcher: Ok what is your address

Shane: 1344 West Oak Dr

Dispatcher: Ok we will have some one there as soon as possible

Shane hangs up the phone and quickly goes back in to the living room

Shane: Carmen shes dead

Carmen: No she cant be. shes a healthy woman she cant be

Shane: She might be healthy but she took a half a bottle of oxy

Carmen looks down at Jenny looks back up at Shane

Carmen: This is all my fault

Shane: Its just as much as my fault than it is yours. We are in this together I never thought Jenny would do something like this

By the time the ambulance came it, had already been too late for Jenny. Jenny died young and in such a terrible way.

So Shane and Carmen broke the news to all the girls and couldnt help but feel that it was their entire fault. But deep down inside, Shane and Carmen knew that they should and would be together but they did not know that it would end in a tragedy like this.
