    Then come home to me.

    So much has happened Tina, so much I can hardly take it all in. I thought Id lost you and I only had myself to blame for that but now youre here with me, giving me the chance to be the woman that I should have always been to you, but I want you to know something that Ive learnt about myself through all of this. Im much more of an all or nothing kind of person than I would care to admit to myself. I just cant do half-assed. I need you Tina, not just a little bit, completely so Im asking you to move back into the house with me. I know its probably not going to be easy to begin with but Ill be there, every step of the way, for you.

    I love you so much Bette, and I do want to live with you again

    But

    Some very dark things happened in that house. said Tina, the briefest hint of pain flashing across her eyes, which didnt go unnoticed by Bette.

    It was one night Tina, against all the other nights that I spent with you in that house, loving you, making you laugh, holding you. We made a baby in that house.

    We lost a baby in that house.

    Thats true. said Bette, resignedly.

    I slapped you, and bit you in that house.

    I held you afterwards.

    I left you after you held me and I never thought that I would go back.

    I didnt either, not with you leaving in the middle of the night, not with how much I hurt you.

    We let our relationship fall apart in that house.

    So dont you think its the perfect place for us to go back and rebuild?

    Cant we just stay here? asked Tina, looking at Bette hopefully.

    As much as I would like that I dont think we can. I have a job to go back to and well, lets face it, Alice is going to be bummed that she didnt find out about us first as it is, so not to go back, shell probably fly over here and drag us back.

    Tina laughed at this but recognised that still nothing had been resolved. She held Bettes hand for a while, playing with each finger in turn, listening to Bettes breathing slow down slightly, relaxing into Tinas tiny caresses. Bette knew that Tina was deep in thought, and for once, knew she had to have the patience to let these thought processes play out.

    1. Brilliant…and not a moment too soon..Bette asking Tina to move back in…if you dont ask…you wont get!! loving this…and the earing …nice to see that brought up …..cause lets face it ..it was cute…

    8. yessss! Finally Tina decided have this talk with Bette and accepted live together in LA! The earrings all of us know that she left there on purpose! great story a like it so much

    9. I am so glad that they are willing to talk and show that side of themselves that can destroy them. It is through that knowledge that the other has in their lover that allows the other to lead them. It is like following the yellow brick road, or the rainbow to the treasure. Only here the treasure is having the family that both women would like to have.

    11. Citygirl, Another wonderful chapter as Tina shares her concerns and anxieties with Shane first and then opens up to Bette. It is these quiet and sincere moments between the characters that lifts this story into the stratosphere. Having Tina slowly and cautiously comes to terms with her fears and overcome them by talking to Bette is masterfully realized here. Your talent and skill with the words and phrases have created an alternative universe; one where Bette and Tina can come together as one once more. Thank you for sharing this terrific tale with me.     13. Wow, this story and especially this chapter makes me resent Ilene even more. Excellent chapter, Citygirl. Memo to Ilene: Take a page out of Bette’s book and put it right in S4.

    15. Glad to see Tina made the jump. Okay more like a baby hop since Kate was right that after a week Tina would be at the house every night anyway. I figured Tina would ask for her ring back in this chapter too. Perhaps we’ll see that in a lighter setting before they go back to LA. :)
