Chapter 8
The Planet
Alice and Bette walked in and scanned the room. After a few moments Alice screeched
‘There she is!!’
‘Who? The blonde?’
‘NO! Shane…this is exciting.’
‘Why? She is just a delivery – girl. You didn’t freak out like this when I told you that I met Madonna.’
‘YOU met Madonna. I didn’t! So why should I be super excited?’
‘Because I am your friend?’
‘Yeah…whatever…hey lets go over to her’
‘No way!’
‘Why not? I bet she knows you…you beat her on the chart’
‘Oh Alice…I can’t tell you often enough that this whole chart thing is ridiculous. I mean I never even…Alice?’
Bette turned to look at Alice and realised that she was gone. But where did she go? Oh no…Looking over at Shane she found Alice. At that moment Shane and Alice turned to Bette and started to make their way over to her.
‘Bette…I want you to meet Shane McCutcheon! Shane…this is Bette Porter!’
Shane reached out her hand and said
‘It is very nice to finally meet you Bette. I’ve heared a lot about you’
Bette took her hand and said
‘I hope only good things. Nice to meet you too Shane’
‘Well I am impressed by your reputation…I mean Caroline Miller?! Wow!’
‘Oh Caroline…yeah she is great. And so funny. She is a really good friend of mine.’
Alice was shocked. Bette obviously didn’t realize that she was about to destroy her reputation by saying that one of her conquests is a ‘good friend’ of hers. Alice saw only one way to prevent it.
‘Shane…I saw you here at the planet a couple of days ago and you were with a cute blonde…did you add her to your list yet?’
‘A cute blonde…I am not sure who you are talking about…when exactly did you see me?’
‘It was at lunchtime…I think she was there by bike and she had the same red bag as you’
‘Oh yeah…now I know…no she’s not…I mean she is a friend of mine. My best friend actually.’
‘Well she is cute though’

I just caught up on your story now – great chapter, great story! I can’t wait to see if Tina try’s to beat Bette home or break in while she is sleeping – only to be suddenly overcome by lust (ok i can dream!). PPS !

Tina is so lucky that she glanced around or she would have been toast. Of course she could turn it around and say she just had to see Bette. Whatever happens, I can’t wait.
