Pacing around the pool Bette was trying to calm Lily down. Sweetly cradling her she was whispering silly words, hoping for a way, for a moment of calm, of silence. Hearing a noise at her back she turned around finding Shane walking towards her.

“Hey”

“Hey” whispered Bette trying to smile, unable to hide her tiredness.

“Did she wake you?” Asked Bette, stopping at Shanes side.

Shaking the head, tenderly leaning over the baby, Shane whispered,

“No…was awake…”

“You were?” Asked Bette again, wondering.

Nodding, Shane caressed Lilys wet cheek, erasing the crocodile tears

Realizing what Shane was not saying, Bette smiled, chuckling. Looking up at Bette, Shane shyly asked,

“May I?”

Nodding, feeling the arms stiff and tired, Bette placed Lily in Shanes arms. Taking the baby, Shane cradled her whispering sweet words to her ear.

Seeing Shane handily holding the baby, Bette sat down, sighing with relief. Shane, noticing how the baby was calming down, placed her on her shoulder, with Lilys head on her neck. Caressing Lilys back, Shane slowly paced around the pool.

Looking at Shane, Bette smiled, amazed by her powers. Hearing the quietness, she noticed the beginning of the sun rising. Leaning backwards, she closed her eyes for a second before yawning.

“Why dont you go to bed?…I will stay with her…” Shane whispered stopping at her side.

Hearing Shanes voice, Bette opened her eyes. Standing up, she shook her head.

“No… is ok…besides…its almost dawn” Bette whispered, looking at Lily, amazed by her calmness.

“How you do this?” She added, looking up at Shane.

Shrugging, Shane looked down at the baby, unable to stop the sweet smile growing on her face.

“I..I have practice..I..I like babies…”

Nodding, caressing Lilys little hand, Bette whispered,

“It shows…”

Unable to stop another yawn, Bette tried to smile.

“Go to bed Bette..Ill stay with her” Shane repeated, pointing inside.

“You sure?” Bette mumbled, feeling her body aching for a bed.

“Sure…when does she need to eat again?” Shane asked, seeing Bette looking towards her bedroom.

“In four hours…” she mumbled

“Ok…I will wake you then”Shane added, nonchalantly sitting down.

“No… No…am sure we will be up sooner than that….besides…everybody is coming for brunch…”

Nodding, Shane smiled.

“I know…dont worry, ok?”

“Ok…”Bette mumbled, unable to keep her eyes open any longer. Stopping at the kitchen?s door, she turned around to whisper,

“Thank you”

Nodding, Shane smiled.

Seeing Tina peacefully asleep, Bette smiled. Lying on the bed, she carefully kissed Tina on the cheek before resting the head on the pillow. Feeling all her muscles, relaxing, she heard Tina in the distance,

“Did she fall asleep?”

Nodding, unable to open her eyes again, Bette mumbled,

“Mary Poppins came to the rescue…”

Thank god!” Mumbled Tina rolling over, placing her arm over Bettes belly. Feeling Tinas body, Bette moved closer and noticing Tinas warmth, she let her muscles, her mind drift away into Morfeos arms

Noticing how deep asleep Lily was, Shane walked inside. Carefully, she placed her on the changing table and very tenderly changed her diaper. Creaming her tiny body, Shane noticed how beautiful she was, and then, as she was dressing her again, she saw it again. It was a mini Tina, she thought, unable to stop the smile growing on her face just by realizing it.

Taking Lily in her arms again, Shane sweetly kissed her on the cheek before placing her in the crib. Turning the light off she noticed the sun rising, duskily illuminating the beautiful room. Looking around, seeing her drawings, the baby, the crib, Shane felt her heat flutter with joy, with an easiness she was not use to. Remembering the armchair in the corner she quietly walked towards it and sitting down, extending her long legs, closed her eyes, happy.

Watching Alice walking into the garden, Shane walked outside.

“Hey”

“Hey” Nodded Alice, looking around.

“Where are the ladies of the house?” She inquired, surprised to see Shane setting the table.

“Sleeping”

“They are?” Alice asked checking the time.

“Why?…dont they know we are all coming from brunch?”

Nodding, Shane walked inside being follow by Alice.

“Yeah…I will wake them up in a minute…the baby has been crying half the night…”

“Oh…ok…here…”Alice said, placing two paper bags on the table. Noticing the wondering look on Shane?s face, she added,

“Croissants and orange juice…”

Nodding, Shane turned to check the pasta boiling in the kitchen.

“Whats that for?” Alice asked, peeking over.

“Salad…Tina always makes pasta salad…

“Right…”Alice nonchalantly said moving over. Looking around, she realized something was missing.

“Where is my goddaughter?” She asked turning to look at Shane.

“Asleep in her room” nonchalantly answered Shane taking the glasses from the kitchen cabinets.

“Oh..ok…” Alice mumbled, sitting down.

“Where is Dana?” Asked Shane noticing the vague look on her friends face.

“She had to stop at the club” Alice said, looking at her feet, biting her lip.

“You ok?” Asked Shane walking back from outside.

“Yeah’…”nodded Alice not very convincing.

“Ok”whispered Shane checking the time.

Standing up, Alice moved to the fridge, opening it she looked inside for a couple of minutes before closing it again. Turning to look at the pool, she said,

“I asked her to move in with me”

“You what?” Asked Shane stopping at her side.

Looking at Shane, Alice whispered,

“You heard me…”

“Why did you do that?”.Shane asked walking outside, setting the plates on the table.

“You want her to move in?” she added, looking up at Alice.

“Yeah..I …” Alice said, shrugging.

“What did she said?” Asked Shane noticing there was something else Alice was not saying.

“She said she likes me…”

“Thats nice…” Shane said walking inside again.

Following Shanes steps, Alice said,

“She said she likes me, Shane!…I…I told her I love her and she likes me?….”

Hearing the voices in the garden, Bette lazily rolled over, finding Tina looking at her.

“Morning…” Bette sensually mumbled in a deep ***** voice full of laziness and love.

“Hi” whispered Tina moving closer.

Caressing Bettes nose, resting her finger on her lips, she added, her voice deep, slow, secretive.

“Did you sleep well?”

Nodding, Bette smiled. Then, hearing Alices voice coming from the garden, she added,

“I guess is time to go help Shane…”

Nodding, loving seeing Bette laying at her side, with a smile on her face while the warm sun light was caressing her body, Tina added,

“Yeah…”

Sitting on the bed, watching Tina stretching, Bette smiled.

“We could do something for her…we owe her… she is just amazing with the baby…”

Nodding, Tina sat on the bed before slowly, carefully walk to the bathroom.

“We cant make her godmother thou…”

Nodding, Bette followed Tinas steps. Closing the bathrooms door behind them, seeing her image on the mirror, she said,

“We could ask her to be one of Lilys guardians…”

Looking up, locking her eyes with Bettes on the mirror, Tina smiled.

“You are a genius….” She said, just before lightly kissing Bette.

“Did you ask Kit already?” She added, breaking the kiss.

Shaking her head, Bette said,

“No…was waiting for you.. we could ask her together…”

Nodding, Tina smiled.

“Will do today, ok?…after brunch…”

“Ok” nodded Bette stepping into the shower.

Seeing Bette in the nude Tina sighed, smiling.

“I..Im gonna check on Lily” she mumbled opening the door.

“Ok…Ill be right there…”

“You need help with your hand?” Tina asked from the door, suddenly remembering Bettes wounded hand.

“No..am ok..thanks…” Bette said from behind the steamy glass door.

“Ok” mumbled Tina closing the bathroom door.

Walking to the pool after checking on Lily, Tina heard music. Looking around she tried to find the source.

“Whats that?” She asked the girls as Ricky Martins “She bang” was being played.

Chuckling, walking inside, Alice said,

“Thats Bettes cell”

“You kidding me…” Said Tina watching Alice looking into Bettes purse.

Taking the vibrating sounding cell, Alice said,

“Hey!…she needed some cheering up…its a fun song…” She added, whispering, winking at Tina just before answering.

“Hello?….yes…yes this is Bettes cell…no she is not…hey Lee?. (pointing the cell, Alice whispered)…Lee Simone….Yeah…yes sure…sure I will tell her…ok…see you…yeah you too….”

Hanging up, placing the cell on the table, Alice said,

“It was Lee…wanted to talk with Bette…”

“Who wanted to talk with Bette?” Asked a smiling, looking fresh Bette, walking into the kitchen.

“Lee Simone… she said to call her back” Alice nonchalantly said, unaware of Tinas frowning face.

Catching Tinas face, how she tried to hide it, Bette stop at her side, and caressing her arm, she kissed her lightly on the cheek before saying,

“Ill call her later”.
