CHARACTERS: Marina,Jenny, Tim, Francesca Heidi,Isabella,Francis, Antonio

                                                             The Planet

Marina has been at work since opening the Planet at 5:30 am. She delivers the wrong order to a customer and when he informs her that his order is wrong, Marina snaps on the poor guy, shouting at him” If you think that you can do my job better than me”, then I suggest that you do it.

Having never seen Marina in such a mood the guy just looks at her, he gets up and says to Marina” I can see that you are having a very unusual day”. Perhaps it would be better if I comeback another day.

He then leaves the Planet. Heidi who just happens to be within listening distance sees and hears what just transpired between Marina and the customer. She walks over to Marina and asks her what’s wrong Marina?

I have been working for you for nearly five years and I have never witnessed you in such a foul mood nor have I ever heard you speak to a customer in such an appalling tone of voice.

Marina looks at Heidi( she pauses) and says I know and I’m sorry. I will apologize the next time he comes in, ” that’s if he ever comes in again” Heidi says with reservation. Marina I’m sure that I don’t need to remind you of the “cardinal rule, when dealing with the public, the customer is always right”.

Marina looks at Heidi and shakes her head and answers with an imphatic NO,you’re right. I don’t know what got into me to make me do and say such a thing. Will you do me a huge favor.

Heidi: What she asks, Marina? 

Marina:  Will you please take over here? I need to leave, I’m no good to anyone here like this. Heidi gives Marina a big smile and says, you’re right, not in this mood you aren’t. Honey I swear that you can’t even like yourself right now.

Marina takes Heidi’s hand in hers and asks her “what did I do to deserve you”? Heidi smiles and pats Marina on the shoulder and says I don’t know. Marina, you are a wonderful person and a terrific boss.

Marina goes in her office and sits down at her desk and leans forward and places her head in the palm of her hands and asks herself aloud. “What The ***** Am I Doing, What The ***** Is The Matter With Me”?, I’m not suppose to act this way?

Marina bows her head down on the desk and visions of Jenny start racing through her mind and it is then that Marina realizes the cause of her mood swings. Marina gets up from her desk and opens the desk drawer and takes her car keys and leaves. 

She goes to the counter and tells Heidi that she will be going out of town to New York City for a meeting and that she will also be staying an additional few days then she leaves to gohome and packs her things.
