    Chapter 44a – Bette’s POV  “So, anyway that’s my plan. What do you think?” “Suicide mission.” “I need a little more than that, Alice. What do you think Shane?” “Well it’s an idea, which is more than you had before. But I don’t know if they’ll go for it B.” I rub my head in

    Chapter 44a – Bette’s POV 

    “So, anyway that’s my plan. What do you think?”

    “Suicide mission.”

    “I need a little more than that, Alice. What do you think Shane?”

    “Well it’s an idea, which is more than you had before. But I don’t know if they’ll go for it B.”

    I rub my head in frustration. It took many hours of contemplating before this idea came into my head. I thought about and thought about it. And this is the best possible solution for everyone to get what they need.

    “Suicide mission aside,” Alice began, “I think it’s the best you’ve got. So I say go for it.”

    “Yeah, go for it.” Shane agreed taking the last gulp of her coffee. Afterwards there was a period of silence. With the stamp of approval from my council, I just have to think of a way to present it.

    “So, how are you going to do it?” Alice asks.

    I chuckle despite my situation. “I was just thinking about that, Al.”

    “Well, I’m sure that you’ll come with a great presentation.” Shane adds.

    “Yeah, just wear your best suit.”

    “Very funny, Al.”  I say, not seeing the humor in this.

    “I think that Eric is going to be the most resistant, so maybe you should tailor it more for him.” Shane advises.

    “Why?” Alice asks.

    “You’re right.” I nod, ignoring Alice’s question.

    “Huh, that’s odd, that you would ignore my question.” Alice says, fishing.

    “Al, it’s not a huge secret that Eric is the most sensitive with the ‘Bette and Tina’ thing. I mean, he’s the one that’s really making a huge deal of Tina being around Bette. So, yes, Bette should focus on him.”

    “Hmm. Ok, if you two say so. But I know that there is more to this.”

    I sigh and try to rub the memory of my past transgressions out of my head.

    A couple of days later 

    “Hey sweetie, what’s up?” Grace asks me opening her front door.

    “Hi sweetie,” I respond giving her a peck on the lips and walking through the door. “Are Eric and Tina here?”

    “Yeah, but they’re…indisposed at the moment.” She answers throwing a knowing eyebrow my way. I flinch involuntarily.

    “Oh. Well I can come back.”
