    Vignettes: Chapter 32

Shane, Alice and Dana looked at each other and grinned. When Shane planned this week with her friends, she didnt know what to expect, but as time passed back in LA, she realized Bette and Tina had some unresolved issues between them. But they werent the only ones. Shane thought of Alice and Dana and how she never had the opportunity to get to know them as a couple or see them in action together. She didnt know which way to push them… together or apart. One thing she knew for sure, they needed to have some closure from their last argument or there would be tension between them for the rest of the week.

What do you think? Dana asked excitedly.

Im not getting my hopes up. Alice said. Ive wanted them back together so many times over the years, especially before they moved from LA, but that never happened. Now they have their own lives and live miles away from each other.

But theyre older now, too. Shane commented. Wisdom grows with age, I think. I hope, anyway! I know they both have a lot of pride and are extremely stubborn, but Im hoping they can put that aside for just one conversation. I just want them to work it out, one way or another.

They all grew quiet for a while, lost in their own thoughts of how the day would play out as they finished their cups of coffee. Shane stood and dropped some money on the table.

I must look like a mess. I havent showered yet and Im still covered in dirt from my late night with Bette. Im going back to the house. Catch you guys later.

Ill come with you. Dana jumped up, not wanting to be left alone with Alice. They had conveniently avoided a situation like this all week.

No, you guys stay and finish the tea cakes here. Enjoy the free time. Shane grinned.

Im stuffed, though. Really, Ill just follow you back.

Ill tell you what you can do to help me out, if you want. Shane said. Can you guys pick up some food for dinner tonight? I have a list of groceries I need. It would be a huge help.

    1. Every time I look for one of your posts I feel like I’m half-starved…When I finally do get to read one I ‘gobble’ it up too quickly leaving me hungry for more! I love this story…alot! Thank you.

    2. Definition of understatement: “Bette and Tina had some unresolved issues between them.”
Good job, Yoda, leaving Danish at breakfast together. Hopefully they’ll talk before they kill each other.
While I want to say that I hope B&T get sand in uncomfortable places, part of me thinks that it won’t happen — at least not at this point in the story. Then again, they’ve never had problems falling into bed, have they?
Nice installment, but it’s like a good appetizer, many choice nibbles but leaves one wanting so much more.
