    Vignettes: Chapter 36

It was after midnight by the time things started to wind down on the patio. Plenty of margaritas had been consumed and even more stories had been shared. Laughter blew threw the windows and echoed through the house. Somewhere along the way during the evening, Bette and Tina had ended up next to each other, Bettes arm casually draped around Tinas shoulders. None of the others dared comment, for fear of snapping them back into reality and ending the enchantment of the night. Shane smiled and watched her old friends sitting around the table, fondly remembering many night spent just like this many years ago. It hit her again how much she missed them.

… and when I came back to the house, the entire bag of candy had been eaten! Alices face was red from laughing and the alcohol.

Dont tell me the dogs ate it! Tina asked, wide eyed.

The entire bag. Wrappers were everywhere and they were bouncing off the walls.

And she neglected to tell me until I finally asked her if they ate something funny. Dana said. I found things in their bowels that didnt belong.

Like pieces of pink taffy? Bette giggled.

Good thing it wasnt chocolate. I heard that can kill dogs. Tina said, resting her hand on Bettes knee. Always alert, Alice noticed the movement and arched an eyebrow at Tina who pretended she didnt see Alice.

Alice never dog sat my babies again. Dana said.

Like Id want to after that catastrophe.

Lets try to end this night on a good note. Shane said, looking from Alice to Dana. Or well leave you two outside and lock the doors.

I vote for the latter. Tina said and Bette nodded in agreement.

Three to one, ladies. Guess youd better behave and stop bickering. Shane tried to hide a smile as Dana and Alice sat in silence.

Tina stretched her legs under the table and threw her arms above her head as she yawned. She glanced at her watch and stood up.

Im going to bed. Its late.

    Me too. Bette joined Tina.

    1. OK Now the speculation has begun about Tina actively doing something about getting back with Bette we need an update soon. Put us out of our misery;-)

    2. I always feel like such a goofball when I read this story…cause, you can’t wipe the goofy grin off my face…even with one of Dana’s sweaty towels!!! Thanks!!!!

    3. The interviewing thing sounds logical..but doesn’t Bette live in New York? So why would she be interviewing in Cali? Whatever, I love the story either way. <3

    4. Yep, I agree that Tina is definitely putting some wheels in motion in this installment.
A move back to LA seems to be in order as Dakota is now old enough to move.
Glad to see that you have Tina as the proactive partner. Moving heaven and earth to commit to her love.
Of course you could have something completely different in mind for us. Keeping the twists and turns in this story is one of the enduring reasons that I enjoy it so.
      Awaiting your next post.
And finally, yes, like Sea, am grinning from eye to eye. Bette and Tina being relaxed enough to display their affection for one another, in font of the gals. Alice and Dana back-biting jokingly and showing they are meant to be together. Dana all hot and sweaty.
      Keep on keeping on.
      A Loyal Fan.
