Tina peeked her head outside the bathroom door and spotted Bette and Shane talking in the hallway. Her hair was wet and she was wrapped in a towel.
Hey guys!
Bette and Shane glanced over at Tina.
Dinner tonight. Six oclock. That place we used to eat at all the time. She quickly closed the door. Shane and Bette looked at each other, puzzled, but excited to dine out at the one restaurant in the city that could elicit more memories than they could count. They told Dana and Alice about the plans. Bettes nerves started to get the better of her, though she couldnt explain why. She wanted to hear about Tinas disappearing act, but at the same time, she felt like it was something big. She cared for Tina deeply and wanted to make sure that everything was fine with her. If anything was wrong, she decided she would do whatever she had to in order to make it right for Tina.
Its all you. Tina told Dana as she walked through the living room, dressed casually in jean capris and a tank top. Dana jumped to the hallway and dashed into the bathroom. Tina and Dana had just returned from a long mid-afternoon run. The other women in the house were complaining about their sweaty smell until finally they agreed to shower.
Tina, can we talk for a minute? Bette cornered Tina in the kitchen, alone.
I really cant right now, Bette. I need to make a couple very important phone calls before dinner. Seeing the look of disappointment on Bettes face, Tinas heart did a small flip flop. But… how about after dinner? For as long as you want. Ill be all yours.
All your, huh? Bette grinned.
Tinas cheeks turned red, deeper than the already pink glow on them. Thats not what I meant.
I know. Bette sighed. Fine, after dinner will be fine. I just… just know that if theres anything you need, you know where to find me.
Thanks. Tina smiled and headed out the door.
As Tina left the house, she paused for a moment to look back. Bettes words were swirling around in her head, and they puzzled her. What did that mean? She wanted to confirm with Bette that indeed everything was fine, but looked at her watch and thought against it. Her instincts were to express to Bette that she reciprocated those exact feelings she uttered to her, but time was against her. After dinner they would have many things to discuss and mull over. Tina decided to leave it for the evening. She pulled out her cell phone and pushed speed dial.

As if the drama in the story so far wasn’t enough now they will both be in LA. The last line said it all….is the city big enough for both of them? I can’t wait for Bette and Tina’s after dinner talk!
