    Shane has questions.

    Bette was standing in the hallway talking to Dr. Wilson as she peered through the window at Shane, still sleeping in the recovery room. “So, basically, if you want to confirm it with Tina’s doctors you’re going to have to get her consent to re-release the records. A sneaky fax simply won’t do.”

    “How sure are you, exactly” Bette asked, turning to face her. “Well, we’re comparing the records you faxed over. Unless that information changed during the transmission to somehow match Ms. McCutcheon’s to the letter…”

    “I see your point.” Bette looked back at Shane and tilting her head to the side, continued, “How much longer do you think she’ll be out? I have some afternoon appointments that I can’t afford to miss.”

    “We can wake her now, she’s probably just sleeping out of boredom, at this point. Just keep an eye on her for the rest of the day; make sure she’s drinking plenty of fluids, no smoking or alcohol, if she has to do that she can wait until she’s completely back on her feet, although I prefer she didn’t do it at all…”

    “Wait a minute,” Bette said, putting her hand up in disbelief. “Are you saying I have to watch her for the rest of the day? No, no, that won’t work, I’m trying to book artists for an upcoming show…”

    “No, no, Bette,” Dr. Wilson said, putting her hand on Bette’s shoulder. “I’m not saying that you have to watch her for the rest of the day, I’m saying that someone has got to take care of this girl for the rest of the week, at least. Now she can go about her regular activities starting tomorrow, if she feels up to it, but someone has got to check in on her, make sure she’s eating right…now, if she has no one, like you say, then I suggest you think about what you’re going to do with her after the big procedure, because she is going to need a lot of heal time when that happens, let me tell you.”

    Bette was helping Shane into the passenger seat of her car when her cell phone rang. She shut the door and looked at the caller ID. “Alice!”

    9. What a great twist! But wait, if Shane is supposed to be Bette’s sister, yet Shane is a perfect match for Tina, does that make Bette and Tina sister???? Please NO!!!!
