Where You Go There You Are

    Chapter 55

At Tina’s cue Bette turns to Alice, “Come on Alice lets make some breakfast.”  With that she grabs Alice’s arm and drags her along.

Alice starts to protest but Bette throws her a menacing look quickly getting her to change her mind and instead says.  “Yeah sure breakfast.” Alice says trying to get her arm out of Bette’s grasp.  “Just why I came over.”

Bette turns back to Tina, she looks like she wants to say something.  Bette and Tina glance at each other, a look passes between them.  No words are spoken instead Bette gives Tina a half smile then turns away dragging Alice with her.

Tina waited a moment for Bette and Alice to be down the hall, she was grateful for this moment alone with her daughter.  She had so much to say to her, so many loose ends of her life here in California to relate she didn’t know how to begin.  She feels the press of having two separate and different lives.  Tina had never told Angelica about this time in her life.  It has always been so painful to open up these feelings.  All these years when the opportunities had presented themselves, if only she had said something, even just a little piece, then this moment would be so much easier.  But she hasn’t instead choosing the safer course and now her daughter was looking at her like she didn’t know who she was.

Tina lets out a deep sigh, she doesn’t know where to begin, what to say or how to get this started in order to get Angelica to understand.  “Angelica lets sit a minute.  I want to talk with you before we do anything else.”

If times had been normal Angelica would have snapped back a smart-alecky response to her Mom’s quiet understatement.  But things weren’t normal.  It is almost like her Mom is two different people.  The cool Californian that everyone around here seems to love and then the Mother she has lived with her entire life the one who is always late and ultra strict.  It confuses her, she doesn’t get a lot of what was going on.  There are a ton of questions and for once she needed to have her Mom give her answers.

    1. I could say a lot.but thank goodness that Angie has amind of her own. She does need a whole Mother or Mothers. A happy Mom and aMom that has been there and can help her go through life and make the most of it. HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY AND A WONDERFUL 2009

    2. Gawd,I feel like I’m running a marathon with Tina and her emotions,I thought all she wanted was for bette to come after her,and to know that Bette still wanted her,but now she get what she wanted she doesn’t know if she can trust it? I love Tina ,but she is trying my patience.Let me take this time to wish you MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

    3. The warmt of the framily; oooh, Angelica is smarter than Tina imagine. Mmmmm, would it be wishful thinking for one more chapter to this story? This was a nice, moving installment. Thank you. Thank you for your wonderful words.

    4. This is so heartbreaking. You know that the love is still there for everyone to see. Now, it will take the two former lovers to reconnect on their own. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

    5. It was so wonderful to see both these chapters. So happy Angelica spoke up to her mother nad to let her know that she too has noticed that Tina really was unhappy all these years and that something was missing from Tina’s life. Now Angie knows that it was Bette the love of Tina’s life. Hopefully Tina will let the walls fall down and recognize the truth of Bette’s staement and accept her love again. Someone needs to tell Tina how ill Bette has been and she has changed, she is not the woman she used to be. Tina would probably love this Bette even more than she ever did before. Thank you Jwer for taking the time to post these chapters, I can only imagine how busy you have been and the pressure you’ve been under. Thanks again. Merry Christmas to you and yours and may you receive everything that you have wanted. Post when you can.

    6. That was quite powerful, Jwet. But did Angelica really call Bette neat? Personally, I think she’s the bee’s knees, the cat’s pajamas, reet, petite, and gone. But I might be dating myself. But really, some people you need a sledgehammer to get through their thick skulls. In Tina’s case, I think a jackhammer might be needed.

    7. The framily is finally coming back together. They all need each other and Angelica needs both her moms. Thank you for such deeply developed and exquisitely revealed people. May your year be filled with peace and happiness.

    8. WAY TO GO ANGELICA!!! Daughter knows her mother alright! JWET, thank you for this early Christmas gift. And thank you for your writing, you have blessed us, your fans, with another wonderful year of awesome talent. Merry Christmas and may all of your wishes come true in the New Year!

    9. Thank goodness for Angelica..she seems to be the only one to penetrate Tina’s and Bette’s stubborn walls. Thank you for a beautiful story JWET. I hope you have a Merry Christmas

    10. I’ve been so busy the past few days I got to read all those chapters at one sitting…..OMG, OMG, OMG…I can’t believe what’s happening. Tina, pls don’t leave, don’t let the anger you’ve had in the past stop you from having a future!!!!!!! It’s christmas for heavens sake!!!!

    11. Me again. Spent most of Xmas day reading from chapter one. Don’t know how I missed this story. Excellent knowledge of human psychology. Realistic dialogues, emotional accuracy. Thank you! Just don’t brake our hearts – we need hope..

    12. Oh Jenny what words will describe what I’m thinking, it has been 16 months since you started this week long journey for Angelica to find out who she is. In a young girls life that can be a lifetime. A whole mother, a whole family, a whole daughter, what a incredible gift for all involved, and three simple little words sum up what so many look for. As inconceivable as it may be for Angilica to meet her extended family at this point in her life and for them to be able to spend time with her before her mom shows up and get to know their personalities a bit and for all the outlandish things that fly out of Alice’s mouth unknowingly, I could never believe that either Tina or Bette could find a better friend to let Angelica spend some quality time with after everything becomes stable.Your continued efforts on this story are a gift to me and I wanted you to know that, I am looking forward to finding out what a “Whole Mom” is. Peace and joy in the coming year for you and your. Thank you, Md
