"So aren’t my sisters gonna be waiting for us? we didn’t even notify them!" 

 "No I asked them before….because I uh…I didn’t know if you would say yes…and uh…" 

 "Of course I would say yes if you asked me! You should’ve ask me from next time and not my sisters" 

 Carmen couldn’t even imagine the amount of teasing that Shane had to endure in order to ask her notorious sisters’ permission for asking her out. 

 "I have never been here before, we go to a lot of different restaurants when we come to Texas" 

 "Yeah its kinda far away from your house, but uh…if you don’t like the food we can go someplace else" 

 "aahh…Shane! I didn’t mean it like that silly! The food isn’t even here yet for me to like it or not. And with you around every place feels heaven" Carmen says sincerely. Shane seems really taken aback by Carmen’s comment and decided to share the real reason behind her choosing this place. 

 "Well! I actually chose this place because this is where I saw my mom the last time…uhmm…the last time I saw her…."

 Shane looks up at Carmen, the soft brown orbs assure her that her heart is safe with Carmen, as Carmen puts her hand over Shane’s slightly squeezing it. 

 " I never knew I had a twin….I don’t know where she was all this time…it was just me and mom…this place actually used to be a diner…We came here to eat out for my 9th birthday. After dinner mom took me to the church and I was going ahead of her to show off that I was a big girl and then when I turned around to look for her, she wasn’t there anymore" Shane looks down, she has never ever mentioned this part of her life to anyone not even to herself. But there was something about Carmen that made Shane feel like everything is going to be fine. 

 "Shane! look at me! its not your fault that she left! she felt that she was not capable of taking care of you therefore her choice! You are an awesome, loving and caring and sweet person who always thinks about other people" This seemed to make Shane feel a little better, for she looked up at her beautiful wife and offered a smile, Carmen smiled back at her. They got caught into staring at each other until they were interrupted by the waitress who was here with the food. 

 They ate their food silently. "Shane! this food is really good" 

 "I am glad you liked it! I was kinda’ apprehensive about whether you would like the food" 

 "I love the food" 

 After they were done with the food, they got into the car again. 

 "Shane! this is not the way back…is it?" 

 Shane just smiled in answer. "Shane where are you taking me now!" 

 "Well you’ll see sweetheart"

 Shane pulls up in front of a crowded club. 

 "Why are we here Shane?"

 "You’ll see" with that and a smirk Shane gets out of the car, while Carmen still sits in the car what it could be. 

 "Come on princess, or do I have to carry you there now!" Shane jokes as she opens the door for Carmen. 

 Carmen follows without another word.

 Inside the club:

 "Shane! WHAT THE FUCK! This is a Tegan and Sara concert……What are we doing here?"

 "What! you don’t wanna be here? We can always skip this part of the date if you want to …."Shane remarked teasingly. She knew that Carmen had a celebrity crush on Sara and Carmen loved their music, but never had the opportunity to see them live. So Shane wanted to surprise her by buying VIP tickets to a Tegan and Sara concert. 

 Shane could see the joy of ecstasy in Carmen’s eyes. And Shane was glad that she was able to make Carmen happy. If anyone….Carmen deserved to be happy for change…after all the shit Jordan put her through. And Shane considered it her responsibility to take care of this beautiful Latina in front of her…who’s flipping out right now….because Sara has made an entrance in the stage.
