Wings of An Angel – Bette and Tina – Chapter 10

What ever it is Tina thinks she felt, I truly pray shes wrong.

Tina turned her head in the direction of the congregation, completely unnoticed that they were being watched by their boss.  She took in every expression on their faces, their posture, and their acceptance of her relationship with Bette.  The mention of Bettes name triggered a memory best forgotten and words just momentarily spoken, The landing wont be easy.  Tina suddenly jumped into a sitting position that startled her co-workers into acting quickly with them coming to her side while Sam calmly brought Tina a cool glass of water.  Sam quietly observed Tina looking for signs of further distress, but thankfully, she didnt.  What she saw instead in those hypnotically dazzling eyes was determination; a resolution to be the only one left standing, to be the ultimate conqueror.  Sam asked, Tina?  Are you okay?  Whats wrong?

Shes still with me Sam.  Bettes alive.

Hamilton Harbor Construction Site – Three Hours Prior To Rescue

The glooming afternoon crept into dreary darkness as the setting sunset drifted to sleep for it was too tired to stay risen in the fire sky; it had already surpass the normal tradition.  Time was thundering every fatal second that it took to rescue the protector and the protected.  To cover the enormous ground to be searched, John and Mike employed crew members from the police, to the fire department and the fraternity of construction workers to plow the savaged land to recover hidden treasures unfairly imprisoned in the throes of early slavery.  Destruction was centered in a circle of mystery as boulder after boulder was lifted from its cradling location; a site of metal armor challenging Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable to a battle of wits and brawn.  The first cast of iron had been thrown and it was the Kings sword that was being asked to help the local subjects; honoring the brave with each cherished stone.  Nobel kings men in pursuit of righteous achievement.  High beam lights were fenced strategically around the barrier to project enough florescent illumination to see into the colorless night.  Men and women were working around the clock to create testimony of the self determination being dedicated for the cause of liberating the civil individuals watching the untold story in their homes and/or radio.  Regardless of the sight seen or sound heard throughout the surrounding community, every citizen whether you be blind or death, felt the overwhelming creed of the sworn promise to not stop until both souls where pulled free from the wreckage.

    1. I actually have to agree with slipperynipple. I like this story and love how you don’t just rush through things (unlike IC & Co. since they only have a maximum of 60 minutes a week to play with), but I actually had to keep stopping while reading this so I wouldn’t wear myself out. Introducing the supernatural was a good idea seeing as it would take a miracle for someone to come out of an incident like that alive.

    2. I found your story today and spent my afternoon reading it. This is intriguing me. The thing I am most curious about is the little boy, something is weird with that situation. I am wondering if this is going to be an adventure like the movie “What dreams may come.” Will we find the little boy helping Tina face the Angel of Death? This story is also reminding me of Stephen king’s book “Rose Madder.” Although I really enjoy this story and your writing is great I would have to agree with slipperynipple about the length in certain parts. It can take away from the story. other than that I am enjoying it, please continue!

    3. Cool! I seem to be drifting into the dark side of the world lately. The fight between Tina and the Dark Lord was intriguing. The Angel of Life just seemed to stand their and let Tina fight for Bette. The only time that you saw it or it was mentioned was when they were running down the hall and that Angel was running beside Bette. It will take all that Tina can give to Bette to keep her alive. Please post soon.

    4. Good to see you back Leo and this is good chapter. When Tina talk to the Angel of Death is scary, ok glad Bette ok now and hope she will wake up soon. OK post soon please, thanks!

    5. Leo, god damn – you have been gone so long and then you give us the chapter from hell :o)……holy christ this was intense leo – absolutely amazing. Pleas do continue – We so want more, but please not so much drama on the next one eventhought we love it :o) Post soon

    6. Well, so you disappear and then out of nowhere….BANG, after that chapter you once again have our attention…pls don’t ever go away that long again….I will assume that you are busy writing the next, and the next, and the next chapters….as you owe us big time….almost forgot….THANKYOU

    7. Ya know this will be the first time I will write this. The story is good but this was too much. I think I skipped to the ending. The middle took to long and took me along a path I was not very interested in. But believe me this does not mean that the story did not have the desired affect but sometimes less is more. Could of done without some of the death part and the construction site part. Thanks for the story

    8. Three months and thirteen days……..three months and thirteen days is how long you had a woman waiting…(its this how you threat your women)…….LE0, three months and thirteen days………..BUT it was worth the wait………….This chapter by far is your best……The struggle that Tina is going through to keep Bette where she belongs is heart felt…………The fight that she has with the Angel of Death clearly shows how in love she is with Bette and how far she will go to keep her…………..Now PLEASE let Tina win this fight so we can find out the mystery about Bette and Kit………..WE want a happy ending………Now I’ll only waiting THREE HOURS AND THIRTEEN MINUTES this time…………Please continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    9. Leo, welcome back although it’s been WAY TOO LONG. What an ambitious and complex chapter, thank you! If you ever feel another writer’s block coming on consider writing a simpler 1 or 2 pager to keep the creative juices flowing and keep in touch with your readers.
