The Planet.  Marina and Kit’s office.

Kit finds herself partially annoyed this morning.  She has been hit with the news of Marina and Francesca looking to bring in another manager.

Kit ”Why do you need another manager?  I mean I’m already here and I can take care of things when yall are on one of your vacations.”

Francesca ”Kit, I know this seems a little strange and uncouth to you.  Maybe even a little uncomfortable and yes, you’re doing a fantastic job.  But Marina and I will be leaving for a lovely vacation we have planned in Europe.”

Marina ”It will be nice to visit my relatives in Italy.  All the wonderful places we are going to visit.”

Francesca ”And Kit…it’s an opportunity to be associated with Billie Blaikie.  Do you have any idea who that is?”

Kit shakes her head.

Francesca ”He has a reputation of bringing in big names and big events.  We want those events in West Hollywood to be here at The Planet.  In order to do that, we made a deal with him.  Officially, he will be your second-in-command.  He will take care of the club during the evenings and be here at the cafe if you need him.  He will do a fine job for us.”

Kit ”Lara was also good at helping run things not too long ago.”

Marina ”We prefer Lara be able to focus on her chef duties.”

Alice’s apartment.

Her apartment is a mess.  Her life feels like one.  Keeping herself away from her friends most of the time, this is where she dwells.  Her only confidant at this point in her life is Helena, who has overcome her own issues after the breakup with Leigh and departing the C.A.C. over a dispute.

For Helena, Alice has become her only confidant as well.  She wishes to keep things that way.  She wishes to help.  That help has come in the form of Janice, who runs a cleaning service.  As Janice cleans the apartment, Alice and Helena talk in the hallway.

Alice ”I think it’s cool you hired someone…I mean…I don’t think the apartment’s that bad, but…”

Helena ”Alice…you need help.  I’m trying to do just that.  And I want to listen to you, but you have to be willing to open up.”
