Woman of My Dreams
Tina immediately jumped into mother mode. “What about Angelica?”
Kit quickly explained that she would keep Angelica and they would fly down over the weekend. Kit would meet up with Tina and she could tell Angelica they had found her Momma B. Tina agreed. Kit went into the living room. She smiled down at her niece, “Angelica, would you like to come spend a few days with Auntie Kit? We can go to the beach and maybe even to Disneyland?”
Angelica jumped up and hugged her Auntie Kit “oh yes, oh yes, mommy please!” Tina her eyes still brimming with unshed tears just smiled and nodded to her precious baby girl. “Yipee! Let’s go Auntie Kit. I have to pack!” Off they went to pack for their special time together.
Tina looked anxiously at Helena. “How is she really Helena?”
Helena smiled at her friend. “Mummy says she is anxious to see the woman of her dreams. That’s what she has been calling you in her paintings; you two must have a special love for your image to remain when even her memory didn’t. We can leave as soon as you are packed. We have the Peabody jet on standby at the airport.”
Tina stood there deep in thought. They had found Bette. She was alive and well. She had lost her memory but had retained her love for us. Tina was overcome with emotion. She held up until Angie and Kit left. Then she broke down in a fit of tears as Helena just held her and let her cry.
When the tears subsided, Helena calmly spoke “Tina why don’t you go and take a shower, then we can pack and head to the airport. It is going to be a long flight. You can sleep on the way. We can be in Ecuador by morning. You and Bette will be back together by this time tomorrow.”
Tina headed to the shower and Helena called her mother. Peggy told Helena that Bette was beside herself waiting for Tina to arrive. They were trying to keep her busy with the children but it wasn’t working too well. As she finished her call with Peggy, she called the pilot to let him know they would be there in less than 2 hours.
In the shower, Tina allowed the water to wash over her. They had found Bette. By this time tomorrow she would be safe within her arms again. But what if she didn’t remember her? What if she didn’t love her anymore? Stop it Kennard she has done nothing but paint you and Angie for the last 6 months. The love is still there. You can see it in her paintings. Tina was still amazed at the paintings Bette had painted. The detail was remarkable. What had Bette gone through over the last 6 months? She had been alone in a strange country and without an identity. “Hold on babe, I’m coming. Everything is going to be all right. We will find our way back together.”
With that thought in mind, Tina turned off the shower and prepared to take back her life and help Bette find her way back. No matter what was ahead of them, they would get through it together.
Within 2 hours they were safely on the Peabody jet heading to Ecuador.
