Bette laughed

“You will get to kiss her plenty when she wakes up” Bette smiled “She’s just making you wait, she likes to think she’s in charge, Tina does that with me sometimes”

“Yeah right then” Carmen laughed “We both know you’re the temperamental one, I married your mini you to prove it, your both so alike it unreal”

“I taught her well” Bette smiled

“Can you teach her to stop scaring the shit out me” Carmen sighed

“I’m working on it” Bette smiled taking Carmen’s hand “Let’s go see if we can see her”

Bette and Carmen walked out the chaplaincy; Tina and Lisa were standing outside waiting on them.

“Only one person can go see Jess, we figured that should be you” Lisa smiled “Come on I’ll walk you to where she is”

Jess took Carmen’s hand leading her the opposite way.

“Let’s go see our grandchild” Tina held her hand out for Bette to take “Arizona said she deserves some attention”

Carmen walked into the room and slowly over to the bed Jess was in, she had tubes down her throat and IV lines in both arms. Callie smiled seeing Carmen walk in, she whispered for the nurse to leave she would handle it to give Carmen some more privacy.

“Hey pretty girl” Carmen stroked Jess’s face kissing the top of her head “Not going to lie you scared the absolute shit out of me, so I think we’re now even!”

Carmen looked at Callie “is she okay? Is she in any pain?”

“No she’s not in any pain I promise, she’s doing okay for now, she’s fighting through”

“Probably so she can give us all a big fat told you so, you know what she’s like” Carmen joked

Callie laughed “You’re probably right”

“Where’s the baby?” Carmen asked

“Your daughter is in the baby unit, Arizona is looking after her, I told Tina to take Bette and Lisa down to see her.” Callie explained

“Is she okay?”

“She’s doing really well at the minute, we still need to operate and were hoping you would consent to that”

“When?”

“Tomorrow”

“Ok” Carmen agreed

“I’ll bring the forms later for you to sign” Callie sighed rubbing Carmen’s shoulder “I’ll be right out there if you need me”
