Bette looked at Jess waiting on her to talk.
“Jess” Tina said
Everyone stood very uncomfortable and terrified to talk.
Jess turned and went to leave, Tina blocked her from getting out
“Mum let me out please” Jess said
“Jess you need to talk to your Mama”
“You are joking right?” Jess snapped “I thought she was tone deaf…Not a music bone in her body!”
“Yes I know…”
“No you don’t Mum let me go before I really say something I’ll regret” Jess snapped
“Jess…” Tina tried again
“Mum this is not the place for this, just let me go” Jess said getting upset
“Your upset Jess” Jace said

Tina stood back from the door letting Jess leave.
Jess walked the 20 minutes to the hospital tears streaming down her face. She walked into Mason’s room causing Lisa to jump up and Mason to look alarmed.
“What the hell is wrong with you now” Lisa asked “Surely them buying the label helps you”
“Lisa Mama can sing and play guitar she just sang me a song infront of everyone”
“You’re kidding I thought she was tone deaf” Lisa said shocked
“She can play guitar?” Mason asked “I thought she hated music”
“She’s forever saying it’s a hobby not a career and you waste too much time on it” Lisa said
“Well she can sing and she can play and with the song she just sang me she can write too” Jess said sitting on Mason’s bed
Mason rubbed Jess’s back
“Wow I need to digest this one” Lisa sat down “I don’t get why she would give you so much shit about it over the years”
Tina knocked on the door
“Is it safe to come in?” Tina asked
“Mum what is this all about?” Lisa asked
“Well it’s not really my place to say” Tina sighed “your granddad hated music and forbid your Mama from perusing it”
“So why the hell would she not encourage me to pursue it, all she’s ever done is criticize or not take an interest.”
“That’s not true your Mama is extremely interested in everything you three do”
“Yeah that’s a lie, she never has a conversation about music it’s always art or something in relation to it” Mason said
“She’s forever having a go about my choices to pursue music” Jess stated
