You Are The Light That Makes My Darkness Disappear – Chapter Five.

    Chapter Five

Spencer and Tina’s plane finally landed around 5pm. They were waiting around for their luggage. Spencer took a hold of her mother’s hand not knowing what to make of this new place. It was bigger than JKF, and there were just so many people swarming around. It was winter in New York, just the other day she was outside making snow angels with her best friend Jenna, and now, now she thought she’d never see snow again.

    “Mom, it’s so weird here.”

“You’re gonna love L.A. baby. It’s my home. I’ve always been a Cali girl.”

“Mom you sure look like a Cali girl with that tan and all.”

Spencer said sarcastically. She rolled her eyes and stayed behind as her mother retrieved their luggage. Her mother came over with her green suitcases and handed them to her. Spencer ran her hand through her hair and tried to calm herself. Need less to say it wasn’t working.

“Hey Mom you got a Xanax. My nerve are completely out of this world.”

She looked at her mother whose eyes were bugging out of her head. She smiled and winked at her mother.

    “Mom I’m kidding. Chill out.”

Spencer look to her left and saw a poster hanging up for a Paramour concert. She started jumping up and down and slightly screaming.

“Oh my God mom. Paramour is in town!!”

“Huh. Well we just got into town. When’s the concert?”

“Three days from today. Oh Mom can I go. If we can get tickets can I please please pleaaaaase go?!!”

“We’ll talk about it when we get to the house.”

They began to walk towards the terminal to find their driver. Her mom was pretty successful and having a driver and a limo wasn’t something that was completely foreign to Spencer. She pulled out her iPod and put the ear bud that was on the opposite side that her mother was on and turned it on. The song that immediately came on was PARTY IN THE USA by Miley Cyrus. She giggled to herself because it seemed like the girl was singing her life at this point. They got into the limo and started driving. Soon Spencer had fallen asleep again. She started to dream. She was remember a time when her mother and father were still together. They were outside sitting on the deck and her mother and father were arguing about something. She wasn’t sure what, but it was about a woman that her mother had known. Something about her past. The memory dawned on Spencer and she woke from her sleep and looked at her mother.

“She was the reason you and daddy couldn’t make it work.”

She said abruptly. Her mother turned and looked her with wide eyes.
