You Are The Light That Makes My Darkness Disappear – Chapter Seventeen.

“Spence, you can come with me or you can stay here.”

“Mom are you sure you want to do this. Are you ready?”

“No I don’t know if I am sure or ready, but I have to. I love her.”

    “I’m proud of you.”

    “Thanks baby.”

She pulled her daughter into a hug and kissed her on the forehead. Spencer changed as well and the two girls got into the car and drove off to Bette’s. Tina turned the corner of the old neighborhood and suddenly a wave of anxiety rushed over her. She began to shake. She pulled into the drive way behind an Mercedes SUV. She stepped out of the car and began to walk towards the door. Every step seemed to make the Earth crumble beneath her. She stopped when she got to the first step. Thought about turning back. She didn’t know what she was going to say to her. Or what she’d do. She just knew she couldn’t allow this beautiful woman to try to take her life again. She stepped up two more steps. One more to go and she couldn’t even take it. She suddenly felt Spencer’s hand on her back.

“Mom you can do this. I have faith in you.”

Tina took the next step. She walked up to the door and turned the door knob. She walked in and saw Alice and Dana sitting on the couch and Ashley sitting on the chair. She smiled to them, but only received a smile back from Dana and Alice, Ashley just rolled her eyes at her. She felt hurt by that, but she understood; hell if it were her she’d probably feel the same.

“Is she still in the bedroom?”

“Yah, let me take you there.”

“No Al let me do it. Please?”

Alice obliged. She sat back down and pointed down the hall to the master bedroom. Tina walked to the bedroom door. Everything was spinning. She couldn’t see straight, but she some how managed to knock on the door. She heard sobs coming from the other side. It broke her heart.

    “Leave me alone Alice, please?”

The voice pleaded. Tina knew Alice would be the one to persistently make sure that Bette was okay. Tina knocked once more.

“Bette -she cleared her throat- it’s me, Tina.”
