You told me you love me part- Finale

“Hi Shane.” Alice said as she closed the front door behind her. She had just come back from work when her phone went off.

“Hi Al how was your day?”

“Busy like hell you know what I think my boss hates me.” She chuckled then continued. “How about you?”

“Ha just like usual client and stuff hey Al are you up for coffee tomorrow its Saturday you don’t have to work on Saturday.” Shane said almost out of breath.

“Whoa Shane cool down you need to breathe.” Alice chuckled again.

“Hey I have not seen you for weeks now!” Shane protested.

“Ok I’ll be there at nine is that ok?”

“It’s great I’ll see you tomorrow.”

    “See ya.”

    Tomorrow at Planet

Alice hummed happily as she strolled into Planet. She greeted Kit and her staff before making her way towards the corner her friends would usually occupy. Kit hugged her tightly and complaint that Alice hadn’t shown up for weeks. Alice chuckled saying that she was busy her new boss really kicked her ass. Kit broke the hug and said that Shane was already there waiting for her. She patted Alice’s arm as she wished her good luck. Alice raised her eyebrows puzzled as of why Kit would wish her luck but she just shrugged it off and then excused herself to look for Shane. Kit told her that she would send her coffee over then Alice said thanks and made her way to the table. She looked around the place and greeted the familiar faces that she saw there regularly. She brought her gaze back to the table and she stopped her motion when she saw a familiar figure who sat there with her back facing Alice.

Alice stood dead at her track. She couldn’t believe her eyes. The more she gazed at the figure the more it resembled the person who Alice longed to see but at the same time dreaded to see. No, she whispered to herself. It can’t-it can’t be her, she shook her head furiously and walked a few steps backwards. As she turned around ready to run away she bumped into Shane. Knowing what her friend was up to Shane smiled lightly at her friend as she put her hands on Alice’s shoulders.

“Hey Al are you ok?” Shane asked softly.

“Shane I-I can’t.” Alice pushed Shane’s hand away and run towards the front door. Shane was ready to chase after her friend but stopped as she felt a hand on her shoulder.

“Let me go after her.” Shane looked at the person and put her hand on top of the person’s hand.

“Good luck Dane.” She squeezed Dana’s hand in encouragement. Dana nodded and made her way to the exit immediately.

Alice wiped her tears with the back of her hand as she walked towards her car. It-it can’t be her; she repeated these words over and over in her head. Although she had longed to see Dana for years but this was also what she had dreaded for years. She had fought so hard to live in her dreams why Dana has to come back to shatter them all?

Alice walked as fast as she could. She couldn’t help but to think on those months which were the hardest ones in her life. There were so many things for her to figure out. So many things to embrace and to let go. It wasn’t easy she almost gone insane in the process but she made it thanks to her friends who lift her up. And now years later she has accepted a few things she has never thought she would in a million years. She had accepted the fact that Dana had lost her memory, the fact that she had moved to Missouri, the fact that they had not seen each other for four years, and the fact that they each had their own life to live and to go on. She had no problem she had already lived with them for four years.

But she didn’t think she could ever breathe again if-if Dana ever told her right in the face that she had forgotten all about them, that she had already moved on, that she had someone else to live with and to love, and-and all she could offer was a sorry. Just sorry. Alice wiped her tears away. How powerful is that word? Will a sorry able to compensate the lost of their friendship of more than ten years? Will it able to make her forget about all their happy times together as lovers assuming it never happened before? Will it able to erase all the hurts she had to endure when Dana decided to leave her when things got complicated? No, she didn’t want a sorry from Dana. This would kill her. She would rather have herself to live in a lie that Dana still loves her than knowing the truth that they could never be together again. She would rather that they would not meet again than knowing the truth……and she didn’t want to know that all Dana felt towards her was a sorry it was too cruel, Alice shook her head as she quickened her pace.

“Alice!” Alice didn’t stop. She could recognize the voice.

“Alice! Please listen to me!” No, Alice ran as fast as she could.

Dana ran with all her might to chase after the blonde. She knew she had to stop Alice she was longing to see her not a single day she went to bed not thinking about her. She finally caught Alice’s arm and was able to bring her to a halt.

“No Dana please.” Alice pleaded as she tried to free her arm from Dana’s grip.
“Alice please don’t run. I miss you.”

Alice stopped her motion and looked at Dana. She couldn’t believe what she heard.

“What did you say?” Alice was so weak that she only could ask in bare whisper.

“I miss you Al. I want to see you so badly.” Dana said.

Alice looked deep into Dana’s eyes to see any hint of doubt and regret. She saw none of them and to her surprise they were no longer cold, confused and distant as before. A stream of tears rolled down Alice’s cheeks as she continued to look into Dana’s eyes. They are now familiar to her, just like years ago back when they were lovers. They are staring back at her with love, longing and hope; it made Alice’s heart melt. She pulled Dana into her and hugged her with all her might, as if Dana would disappear if she didn’t hold her tight enough. Dana gladly returned the embrace and held Alice tightly. She inhaled Alice’s scent it was so familiar to her. It was one of the things she had longed to feel. And it was so right to be in Alice’s arm their bodies fitted each other completely.

“You are real right? I am not dreaming right?” Alice whispered as she sank her head onto Dana’s shoulder to feel her as much as she could.

“You are not dreaming Al I am here I am here to be with you.” Dana inhaled Alice’s scent before she continued. “Everything will be fine now.” She was crying and she could hear Alice’s sobbing too.

“Promise me you won’t leave me again.” Alice sobbed.

Dana broke the embrace; their faces were just inches away she looked deep into Alice’s eyes.

“I promise I won’t leave you again Alice. Although I can’t remember most of our past but I can totally feel our connection. I can totally feel you-feel us.” Dana composed herself before she continued.

“Will you give me a chance to start this all over again? I will treasure us as if it is the most previous thing in the world. I will try my best to make you happy I promise. Can you give me this chance?” Dana asked in hopeful tone. She was relief when she saw Alice’s lips curled up in a smile.

“How can I say no to you Dane?”

    Dana faced lit up.

“Let’s work this out together. I don’t care how hard it is as long as we are together. I want to be with you Dana.” Alice chuckled as she saw Dana grinning from ear to ear. She caressed Dana’s cheek loving the feel on her palm.

“I want to be with you too, in long term, forever, eternity…” Dana trailed off as she laughed lightly. When she looked deep into Alice’s eyes again her face grew serious.

    “I love you Alice.”

Alice was beyond speechless. She had never thought she could hear those three words from Dana again. Although Dana had lost her memory but she said it without any hesitation, Alice could sense all the sincerities and loves in Dana’s voice. Alice couldn’t be happier. She was completely sure that Dana really meant it when she said she could really feel them.

    “I love you too Dana.”

They looked at each other with tears rolled down their cheeks. No single word could describe how they felt. They had faced so many obstacles together and yet they still felt the loves they had for each other after so many years. People are right. Soul mates do exist in reality. And they both found their soul mates in their best friends; how could they ask for more?

They brought their lips together and kissed passionately in the middle of the parking space, oblivious to the fact that their group of friends were standing a few metres from them. Bette, Tina, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Jenny and Kit; they all had tears rolling down their cheeks as they looked at the couple, reunited once again after all that happened and ready to face the future ahead together. It’s really a great sight to see, because it happens only once in a lifetime.

    The end.
