Looking for a good read?

Maryann McFadden’s third novel, The Book Lover, will be released May 1. It has been selected as an INDIE NEXT PICK, Independent Bookseller’s “must reads” each month. Here’s a brief summary:

When does a dream become an obsession?

Ruth Hardaway has had one passion all her life: books. For the last thirty years she’s devoted her life to her store, The Book Lover, trying to bury her painful past. But now the store is in jeopardy, and the past is catching up with her.

Lucinda Barrett has lost everything in a life shattering betrayal. Desperate, she goes after one last dream—to be an author. She embarks on a thousand mile journey, from bookstore to bookstore, eventually landing on Ruth’s doorstep. Ruth takes Lucy under her wing, championing her book and even offering her refuge at a nearby lake cabin.

But when Lucy strikes up an unlikely friendship with Ruth’s son, Colin, an injured soldier, Ruth begins to question her judgment. And Lucy has no idea that her life is about to fall apart—because of a little white lie.

The Book Lover  lets the reader in on the magical, often perilous journey, of how a book begins in a writer’s mind and makes its way into their hands. The Book Lover will be available as a trade paperback ($14.99), which is perfect for book clubs, and as an e-book. Please  order it from your favorite independent bookstore (they can sell e-books now, too!). However, if you shop through Amazon, please use this link
