ABC is shaking things up for its 2012-2013 schedule, not only by introducing new shows but also by moving their old shows around into new time slots.
In a press conference call right after the schedule announcement, ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee talked about new shows and renewal of the old ones. “I have so much faith in Shawn (Ryan, the creator of “The Shield” and “The Chicago Code”, who is launching new series “Last Resort”). You get a sense in this job of the show runners who really know how to drive the train … We believe strongly in the strength of this show. We think it’s a big, broad tent show, we believe in it, and we’re certainly going to market it in the fall.”
“Scandal and “Modern Family” are two renewed NBC shows that will continue strong in their regular spots. Lee said about these two shows, “I think Kerry Washington is brilliant in this one, the episodes keep getting better and better and better … as far as I’m concerned, ‘Modern Family’ is the defining comedy of our time. I can’t think of a show that better expresses the ABC brand…”
