Time Doesn’t Exist. Clocks Exist. – (Chapter: Ch.16: Spencer, Meet That Someone)
Shifting awkwardly on the cushion and rolling a stray thread from the seat between her thumb and index finger, Spencer kept alternating her eyes between the apparently fascinating fabric that her digits were now twisting into a knot and the brunette sitting about one foot to her right on that very couch. Both girls looked equally nerve-wracked and uncomfortable, stealing a quick glance at one another every few minutes, making sure to retreat their gazes before they were noticed. But they were noticed, just neither had enough guts to acknowledge it.
Spencer had arrived at the house about half an hour ago, spoke her two word apology to Ashley about 5 minutes later, and settled herself down on the couch after another 5 which is where she had been situated ever since, which left a solid twenty minutes of awkward Wanda silence, interrupted every once in a while with a clearing of a throat or the scratch of Sal’s nails against tile in the other room.
For the last few minutes, Spencer’s thoughts had been consumed with the sounds of her and Ashley’s breaths. They alternated – one inhaled, one exhaled, one inhaled, one exhaled – so there was never a completely silent moment. Like seemingly everything to do with the two, they complimented each other, and this wasn’t lost on the blonde. However, she wasn’t stupid. She knew that if things weren’t complicated enough before – two, apparently straight, attached, twenty-something women falling for each other – now it was a fucking labyrinth.
Why couldn’t things just be simple?
When are they ever?
And then there was the question of the hour that had yet to be answered: Where do they go from here?
If Spencer only knew the answer.
One thing she did know was that she had to say something, and soon. The lack of interaction was killing her, and she had a feeling it wasn’t too comforting to the brunette either.
Okay, breathe.
One.
Two.
Thr- Okay, maybe just one more minute.
Inhale [exhale].
Exhale [inhale].
One.
Two.
Three.
“I don’t know.”
Ashley let out a huge gasp and brought her hand up to her heart, “Oh, god. You scared me.”
Spencer almost let out a chuckle. It wasn’t as if she jumped out of hiding.

Sorry about the double-post. My hand went crazy with the enter button, I guess.

So when they go to the oncologist tomorrow, the doctor will tell them Ashley’s cancer isn’t back, right?

Ooops, I wasn’t done yet. Anyway, another great update. I love the term “wanda silence”, that totally cracks me up. I love all the drama this fic provides.

I want her to survive so that she and spencer can live hapily ever after. Kay? Just thought I’d let u know what I wanted. You don’t HAVE to give it to me, but it would be much appreciated. =] PMS please.
