Time Doesn’t Exist. Clocks Exist. – (Chapter: Ch.16: Spencer, Meet That Someone)
“Sorry.” A slightly sideward, teeny, tiny smile appeared on her dirt speckled face, and apparently this was enough for the brunette for now, as she received a nod in return and a response a moment later.
“You,” she cleared her throat softly, “you, uh, don’t know about what?”
A brown head rose up and for the first time since Spencer had arrived back home after her run, chocolate eyes met blue.
“About where we go from here. I don’t know.”
“Oh.” Now the brunette head fell back down, wanting a different answer. Any answer. God, she just wanted a fucking answer.
Spencer knew she had to clarify her response, so she went on.
“I’ve never done this before, Ash. I’ve certainly never done, you know, this,” she motioned back and forth with her hand between the two of them, “before, obviously, but I’ve never had to deal with anything like what you’re going through, or what you’re going to have to go through either.”
She took a breath, not quite knowing where she wanted to go with this, and hoping that somehow the air she just inhaled would give her direction.
“I just – I just – This is a lot for me. And honestly, I feel like a horrible person saying that because I know that this is so much more for you that I could ever imagine, but,” she paused for a second, allowing the words to sink in, even to herself, “but it’s how I feel. And I thought you should know. I’m just – I’m sorry I can’t be what you need.”
She dropped her head down, too ashamed to even look Ashley in the face.
“How do you know what I need?”
Well, wasn’t expecting that.
A blonde head shot up again.
“Uh, wha-?”
“I mean, I just figured it out myself about 2.5 seconds ago, so I’m dying to know how you know what I need.”
The voice wasn’t taunting, it wasn’t belittling, it was just curious.
“Um, well,” Spencer stuttered. She was speechless – and that didn’t happen often. “Well, I guess I just assumed-”
“Well, we all know what assuming does.”
Both girls broke into small smiles, equally grateful for the interruption to the tension that was filling the room.

Sorry about the double-post. My hand went crazy with the enter button, I guess.

So when they go to the oncologist tomorrow, the doctor will tell them Ashley’s cancer isn’t back, right?

Ooops, I wasn’t done yet. Anyway, another great update. I love the term “wanda silence”, that totally cracks me up. I love all the drama this fic provides.

I want her to survive so that she and spencer can live hapily ever after. Kay? Just thought I’d let u know what I wanted. You don’t HAVE to give it to me, but it would be much appreciated. =] PMS please.
